What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Hmm, I have no idea, I thought Ultra Nightmare unlocked after beating it. It did for me.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Initial impressions of Call of Duty Ghosts mutliplayer:
- Different characters and why?
- Millions of unlocks and giant tables of crap
- Millions of items/weapons/etcdooky that... you have to buy with real money?
- Squad points? Da hell?
- Weird monster frame dips in a few areas in some levels.
- One match just flat out crashed the game, PS4 was fine otherwise.
WTF
What did I miss between this and MW2? Apparently, everything.
Yikes? What the hell happened? I liked the Black Ops 3 demo quite a bit. Maybe that's still a better bet? I thought the unlock system for the originals was fine. This is a cluster to say the least. Are the others better, or did they all get needlessly overly complex and riddled with fluff and in-game DLC/micro transactions hell after MW2?
Might just burn through the campaign and put this back on the shelf.

PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I'm not sure if Titanfall is any improvement though.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
... and on that note, the Titanfall 2 campaign looks like it could be awesome. It looks campy and "fun" instead of the ultra realistic style that CoD/BF go for.
Titanfall was fun for a night at a friends, but that's about it. I'm kind of leaning towards checking out 2 instead of Battlefield 1 and Infinite Warfare though.

If the campaign is worthwhile I might pick it up. Only have room for one multiplayer only FPS in my life and that's Overwatch.

DOOM is now beaten. I have some stuff to still finish up in it, but after beating the game, I did finally go and max out that final rune. I've got two mission challenges left to finish off the campaign, one from the VEGA processing level(3 kills with 1 frag grenade) and one from the final level(kill two Barons of Hell with a single shot). I'm a little annoyed with that last one, as I technically did it. I guess the game just doesn't want to count a quad-damage BFG round as a "single shot" for some reason.
Beyond that, a lot of what remains is mop up. I've got to finish up the tutorials and put together a snapmap, handle some multiplayer stuff, and beat the first level on Ultra Nightmare. I dicked around in it last night and got my ass kicked, so that should be fun. Oh, and there is the multiplayer DLC, but I will probably worry about that separately later, once the other two proposed DLCs come out as well.

Titanfall is garbage IMO. It just feels like Call of Duty with less depth. I mean, the giant robots are a cool gimmick I guess, but they're not a "game changer" or anything.Xeogred wrote:I'm not sure if Titanfall is any improvement though.

Yeah, that's why I said "Titanfall was fun for a night" haha. Maybe 2 will improve things.
Little over halfway through CoD Ghosts. Still no input on the multiplayer? It sounds like this is the only one with the squad point system, thankfully. I think I'll get the Black Ops 1-2 double pack for the 360 next.
The Ghosts campaign has been junk food fun. Kind of hilarious that I imagine The Last of Us was an influence on the semi post apocalyptic vibes through a lot of the levels and destruction. So far the bungee cord night skylines stage and the snow one where you disguise yourself as the enemies have been my favorite levels.
Still not a huge fan of CoD's core design with the infinite walls of enemies spawning forever until you push forward. You'd think it keeps it more frantic and believable, but it just feels even more fake and lame. I guess they also still love making you play as a bunch of different characters, constantly jumping around from levels, time leaps, etc, so you literally have no time whatsoever to give a flying damn about anything going on or get invested in anything. And it just sucks to see such high tech and money poured into something that's just average (makes me think of GTA?). But I wasn't expecting a good story anyways. Overall I think I got it for like $10 so I can't really complain. Filler material before Mankind Divided drops.
I do love that it gives me some Rainbow Six vibes sometimes... minus all the intricate gameplay. lol

The Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta is up. Played a few matches. Got teabagged.
Battlefield it is.
