Oh, I've got Zenonia. I've also picked up Legends of Exidia, Fairune, and the Excave trilogy. I did these lil digital RPGs.

PicDun looks awesome though! And there's a sequel!

RGT: Is there a cheap/easy way that I'd be able to archive 5.25" floppy disks on a modern machine (IE: Windows 10)? Obviously I can't just buy a 5.25" USB drive (sadly) but I'm trying to figure out the easiest option that wouldn't require having an entire old school desktop setup.

While I don't think there's a stand-alone USB 5.25" drive, there is apparently an adapter you can buy by Device Side Data that folks seem to have success with for making images (they list it for direct sale for about $55). It converts to a USB interface, but seems better suited for rigging up internally.

alright, another RTG:

My very first gaming system was a C64 when I was a little kid. As such, I've long had a soft spot for Commodore. Lately I've been considering perhaps acquiring another 64 unit to play with for old time's sake. However, I'm pretty sure I'd rather have a 64C or a 128 for aesthetic reasons.

Now I know that almost all 64 games and accessories work on the 128, but is there any real reason to go for the 128? Do any games benefit from the better hardware? Is there any peripherals that are 128 only?

I have never seen 128-only software or games. Dunno about hardware. I own 50-ish C64 games and to the best of my knowledge only one (Qix) is "enhanced" by the 128.

I do agree that the base model C64 isn't as pretty as the C or 128. It is more common though, and I believe it's smaller if you're concerned about desk space.

Wait, I thought you were going PC-only from here on out. Or does the C64 fall under the "computer" umbrella?

it does, yes.

(And technically I'm not exactly "PC only" considering I own a Shield Tablet and Shield TV... I guess I'm just non-console?)

My C64 back in the day was the original unit. For some reason I find the 64C just more appealing visually, though. I'm less concerned about the space than I am the way it will look on my desk.

This book is like a symbol of story-heavy videogames. It's like a physical hard bound copy of a point n' click adventure.

Wow, that is certainly different! Complete a puzzle before going "west" to unlock the next page.

So strange the 8 bit computers are forgotten compared to the NES, afterall it does have a game cart option. A huge huge library of disk games easily surpassing the consoles of the day. There were a few 128 games, nothing really outstanding. If you get into GEOS then definitely get a 128. I have a Vic20, C64, Educator 64, Exec 64 Transportable (modded with selectable RCA Video Audio input) and the steel cased 128D which has an extra PCB inside for copying some heavy copy protected games. There is an aftermarket keyboard cover that flips up as a stand to hold Gazette magazines for typing in game entries; it only fits on the regular C64. Also some of the overlays are designed for the more common original tan C64.

Executive 64
