Rotating Monitors

Post by cyborc »

I'm looking to get an LCD widescreen monitor that rotates vertically. Does anyone have any recommendations for something in the 22 to 24 inch range?

Im using a LG FLATRON W2442PA (16:10 ratio)

I use it to play ikaruga and other vertical shmup.

Realy cheap around 300$can, it have VGA, DVI and HDMI out. It also have a 4:3 button

so if you play to dreamcast on it or anygame that doesnt have wide screen support... you can

display in the right ratio.

I purchased an HP monitor just for this purpose. It ran me about $240 for the 22 inch model. It looks great and has a really sharp picture.

Mine rotates clockwise and doesn't work for most DC games which rotate the other way. Mame is just fine!

I'd say get any 22-24 lcd monitor and stick a swivel mount on the back.

I can recommend these two monitors:

and this swivel:

I'm wondering. It's worth it getting a 16:9 screen? Most games are 4:3 anyways so it seems to me I'm paying more for nothing. Am I wrong?

Can you find a 4:3 anymore?

21" computer CRT ftw. May be a bit heavy, but you can find 'em cheap! I snaged five for free a few years back.

That seems like it would be cumbersome to rotate.

At some point I'm going to bite the bullet and invest the $500 it seems like it's going to take me to get a rotating stand for my 50" plasma. And then we shall play Ikaruga and Castle of Shikigami III. And it will be awesome.
