Watched the new one on Wild Guns. I do wish I had picked that one up when it was cheaper, but it never was that cheap. Oh well, you know what you should do? Track down X-Zone, Bazooka Blitzkrieg, and Shien's Revenge. Give those all a shot and see how you feel about them.

Also, I don't think you ever linked it, but your RPG Town Themes music playlist has some wonderful choices in it.

Heh thanks, forgot to post the new one here this morning.

I have hazy memories of playing X-Zone wayyyy back when as my best friend down the road had a SS6, never played Bazooka Blitzkrieg, and Shien's Revenge I last played a few months ago, it's pretty good.

Been checking out your back archives, man, you've got a lot of stuff! Like what I'm seeing...

...but there's no way G.I. Joe on NES is better than Shatterhand. ;)

What? Dude. Crashing through the skies comes the fearful cry:

Cobra. Cobra!

Seriously if I had to make a list, GI Joe might be in the top 14 or 15 NES games ever. And that's not mushy nostalgia talking. That game rocks

Finally, someone who appreciates the hot and sweaty action of Captain Commando. I give this video three out of three Danny DeVitos.

Watched your Crystalis vid. Nice breakdown! A word of advice: just don't bother with normal sword attacks. It's far too difficult to draw a bead on your opponent. Better to stick with charge shots entirely and manage them from afar. Also, keep that healing spell on! It will save you on countless occasions.

In some ways, I actually think it's a bit better than Zelda. Although it's probably more Ys-influenced, something I didn't realize back in the day. And another tie-in I didn't recognize 'cause I didn't watch much anime was the whole "Castle in the Sky" vibe.

Have you given Willow a shot? It's another great action-RPG on NES. It's also a fantastic-looking game. It really doesn't have a whole lot to do with the movie, so I'm guessing they repurposed the game to fit the license somewhere along the way.
