I got Gal*Gun a few weeks back. It's pretty fun, but I think I suck at the game. I keep getting bad scores. I think the highest I have got so far is a D ranking.

I've listened to a podcast or two that put over Uppers - a JP exclusive 3D-brawler/wrestling/action type game. Anyone else hear of this (or are getting it)?

Highest I got was a B.

I think the score is covertly affected by how many hidden items you find, as well as if you manage to scan the measurements of most of the girls, before you take them down.

Vita regret: never getting Virtua Tennis 4 World Tour edition. You're looking at at least $30 complete, and the cart only is in the low 20s easy. Forget new.

I loved this franchise previously but hadn't revisited since 2000 until recently.

I think VT4 and Wipeout 2048 are the last two games I'd want, Wipeout is still reasonable to find complete on eBay for like $10.

The Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and SF x T games are pretty pricey now. I really don't have an urge to play fighting games on the Vita unless there's a case that these versions are really good.

I actually had no idea they were still making Virtua Tennis games after the Dreamcast, the Xbox 360 version can be had for less than $10 I may get that

So I'm about to express an unpopular opinion here. Ya'll can feel free to disagree; I'm just throwing this one out here.

The excess of video games that blatantly objectify women (and little girls) turns me off the vita overall.

Now, I'm no saint. I like sex as much as anyone. And yes, I get the argument that "If you don't like it, you don't have to play it." But I do form an opinion of a console or handheld based on the games available on that console. I think the Vita has been overwhelmed with games that treat women like sexual objects.

Can't we just get back to brutal violence? 8)

Well that's the cost of more Japanese games then previous gens making it over to the west. Lollies and idols are a big deal over there and huge money makers.

There is always Nintendo if you aren't into the questionably aged characters they whack any Japanese game that makes it over here with a rather large censor stick :P.

I'm not advocating for censorship; I just wish for video games that don't treat women like objects. Is that so bad?

I'm not saying it's a good thing I'm just saying it's Japan it's what they do :P. About half the anime released each season is filled with Lollies, Bromances, and etc. that tend to be really awkward making me pass on quite a few shows that I would other wise watch.

While I don't like sexual objectification of women removing it from a lot of these games would be a pretty extensive task and in the case of Gal Guns wouldn't really be possible. So I guess I'd rather just treat it as a niche semi fetish game then risk the possible censorship and non-release of some games. Although I will admit the Vita is pretty heavy on that content but then again there aren't really a ton of western developed games on there either.

There is also the really kind of weird argument that you will see crop up from time to time where people say all this lollie/idols stuff is actually empowering women since the games, anime, and etc. open up tons of jobs for female voice actors many of which are very successful :? .
