Music I've been listening to lately.

Yngwie is great at what he does. It just never really did anything for me. Sometimes a simple power chord from the disfigured fingers of Tony Iommi can have so much more feeling than the most complex solo from a virtuoso like Yngwie Malmsteem.

Drinking lots of milk or eating caramel is good for lubing the chords up before a recording session, when I record screamy bands I always have a mars bar and a few bottles of water on hand. They always appreciate it.

this is actually totally false. nothing that you put into your mouth or down your throat is going to come anywhere near your vocal cords. you would choke if this were the case. it makes your throat feel better, but if you're overcompensating by using your throat instead of "singing" with proper support from your diaphragm, you're fucking up anyway and definitely will hurt your vocal cords.

just like everything else, there's a right way and a wrong way. the style of music only comes into play a little bit. ian anderson of jethro tull had throat surgery not too long ago for improper usage of his vocal cords. i don't really consider jethro tull a "screamy" band at all.

This morning on the radio, I heard what I now consider to be the worst song ever written. It's called "I Hate My Life" be Theory of a Deadman.

Here's an actual lyric "I hate when I can't tell when a girl is underage/When I tell her she's a nice piece of ass/Her father wants to kick my ass".

The fact that there are adults out there who enjoy this type of music is terrifying....

I was in my cousin's car one day, and she was listening to some Hip-Hop/Rap/R-n-B station and the lyrics were soemthing similar to "If you don't have any money, you won't be getting some of my p*ssy."

I was totally appalled at what some music forms are coming to.

I completely forgot to mention that I've been listening to a lot of King Diamond lately.

DAY AND NIGHT, they play that song NONSTOP on LA's biggest hip hop station power106. i hear it atleast 4 times a day

Thats crazy because here, where he is from, he barely gets any play. More than half of the people I know never heard of him. Thats nuts that he is popular on the west coast but relatively unknown here.

cuz the west coast is the best coast and we got great taste in music
