Damn those Simpsons games look rough.

You should do a Jim Power review.

They don't just look rough. Those Simpsons games ARE rough. I don't believe home consoles got decent Simpsons games until the PS2 era.

I love the StarTropics games, but I was awful at the first. Like couldn't beat the first boss awful. The second one though, I played the crap out of that. I managed to make it to the final boss but never did successfully beat it.

Too bad there wasn't a quality Simpsons arcade game that could have been ported to home consoles.

At least it EVENTUALLY got a digital port to PS3 and 360, although the fact that it's been taken down in both services makes that a bit of a moot point (fortunately, however, I still have it installed on my PS3).

Yeah, if only. I often say it's a shame no such game exists. It could have been a perfect beat 'em up, maybe only rivaled by, say, a beat 'em up designed around two sci-fi/horror series being teamed up where cyborgs and these extraterrestrial alien hunters have to join forces to fight a strange insectoid alien threat on the Earth done in the style of some kind of famous German artist.

It really is too bad no such games existed to be ported to home consoles.

One does have to wonder why they wouldn't make a home port that wasn't on the C64 or PC. I mean, seriously, the C64! Maybe exorbitant licensing fees? Too busy making other content? Dunno.

EVERY arcade game was ported to the C64. Some pretty wild stuff on there.

Great job with the StarTropics vid, by the way. Love that game. Played through it again earlier this year.

EDIT: So they ported Black Tiger to the C64? And it's actually the best port? This should not be so! (Seriously, the Amiga/ST versions should be decent, and they're not.)
