Yep, and it doesn't surprise me there are similarities between Dishonored and Thief, as the development teams consist of some of the same personnel.

Okay, maybe I was downing a little too much chocolate milk the other day when I said Doom 2 was a "cake walk" on UV.

Not that it's harder than the average fan megawad, but some of these levels a third into the game are pretty crazy. According to a wikia maps 7-11 are dubbed the "hellish outpost levels" haha. I've always loved Tricks and Traps though, and in a weird way kind of like The Pit.

I do want to say I recall it getting easier as it goes though, especially with the city levels since there's a lot of big open hub like areas and small buildings in between. Maps 12-20 according to this wikia as well. But I guess I'm not holding my breath and I'll find out.

I'm not sure if this counts more as a FPS or a WRPG, but I started Far Cry Primal last night. It's certainly unique (at least from any other game I've played), but it feels like it could have used a little more polish. And I refuse to accept that a bear can survive two flaming spears to the face and still eat me while his body is engulfed in fire.

It depends on the kind of bear. You probably didn't even pierce its skull.

Real life grizzlies have been known to take multiple .45 rounds and keep coming.

I started Bioshock last week and cleared the Medical Pavilion. The positive reviews and awards the game had received are well-founded in my opinion. It feels like a Shock series game. Like the pipe in SS, the wrench will be your frequently used best friend because it just works well against nearly everything. I think my biggest problem will be the Big Daddies; I already wasted all my electric shotgun rounds taking the first one out, and I know that type of ammo isn't always going to be available. I'm also oddly enjoying the Pipe Dream-esque hacking sequences.

Normal grizzlies can also run faster than a horse in short bursts, so who knows how fast a cave bear could run.

I installed the new DOOM and gave it a test run. It runs...poorly. We're talking single-digit frame rates at times, and for some reason the intro videos just crawled. Next time Bethesda let me skip your stupid logo. I know who made the game.

Well, time to tweak it, update video drivers, etc. I also had some problems with Steam on top of it, so all in all, it was a frustrating experience last night.

Yeah you'll definitely want that buttery 60FPS for it.

Well, I put a bit more time into DOOM. It has some delightfully gruesome combat, and I'm enjoying just how mobile I feel. I definitely have certain weapon preferences(shotguns rule), and I've been going through and trying to completely clear every level...which admittedly takes a little time. Those levers in particular have given me some trouble. Beyond that though, I'm now on the Argent Tower level, and I've gotten 100% of everything in all of the previous levels.

I also swapped over to the SnapPack stuff and started messing around there. I've cleared all of the basic tutorials and played several rounds of different games. Some of these are quite creative, while others were a slog. One of the most interesting I ran through involved me ducking through fog-filled corridors from three Barons of Hell while unarmed. Survive for five minutes, and you get a BFG. The Barons never knew what hit them.

If I have any complaints, it's that DOOM eats memory for breakfast and at times runs about as well as a three-legged mule. Oh, and for some reason the controls change between the campaign and the SnapPack levels. Like the Glory Kill button gets remapped. I just...why?
