That must be what it was then. I remembered there was some stinky fuss over some Xak patch.

Will eventually move opinions to RPG subforum. Enjoyed the first battle. I really like the art style & gameplay mechanics so far. Will be diving in further, reading up & playing, throughout week (for RPGs, I get a little OCD about understanding all the stats).

Win for the thread!

Solid.

Did I mention that Lucienne's Quest is actually a Microcabin game as well? Sadly they don't have any other traditional JRPGs released in English.

Their flagship series is Xak (action-RPGs), though none of those games were released in the States. That series is directly modeled off Ys Book I & II (aka best game ever).

Just did some research on Micro Cabin. Interesting company. Funny I had been drawn to LQ, GW, & Mystaria without knowing it was the same dev.

Beat another map in Mystaria last night. Got my butt kicked trying to rush through the next map. Was happy to see "retreat" as an option :) saved back on world map. Interesting title with skills/techniques. I won't lie, the fact that new techniques don't automatically hit your quick menu when there are available slots is a weird design choice. I know there is an inventory/skill management aspect to the game once you learn more but odd choice. I even had a character join my party with a technique he could perform but it wasnt "mapped" yet. My only gripe so far :). Digging into the experience system. Seems fairly deep but not overly complicated.

I really got dominated on that map lol. Hoping the levels I gained will help.

Thanks for the suggestion. If I really enjoy it, might buy a 3DO & GW.

One caveat: My computer is decidedly ancient and low powered. I need a PC or Mac game that has low system requirements.

Well there's not much in the way of physics... or jumping... but Lode Runner online fits the other criteria. I used to spend hours a day using the level editor. Plus it's free.

Is Overthe Hedge a licensed movie game? Assuming you'd say it's a hidden gem platformer? Interesting. Kim Possible on the PS2 opened my eyes a bit on the possibility of legit licensed platformers.

I addressed the title of the topic!
Yeah movie license game. Cartoon-y stealth action. 71% on Metacritic. There might be a whole thread-worth of worthwhile licensed games...

*edit - Turns out there is a thread from 2015 for worthwhile licensed games...

Different versions of Loco Roco for any Android Tablet/Cellphone owner who does not have a PSP. Image

Loco Roco
Originally on the PSP, I discovered a JAR version for my Samsung Impression (Java) years ago and have been wanting to play the game on my Samsung HTC (Android). I did not want to download the PSP Emulator, but wanted a dedicated version coded for the phone for maximum playability.

Discovered not one but two Freeware Android Loco Roco versions this morning!
