Probably more like a good supplement to more traditional language learning methods.

Too lazy for that! I need to date a girl who likes watching people play video games and is fluent in Japanese and her translate for me. I'll rub her feet every night and try (and fail spectacularly) to cook for her in exchange.

Love how nice this Dead or Alive Ultimate release is on Xbox, got it brand new for $11.49. Nice sleeve with two cases for each game. Feels heavy and awesome, unlike modern releases and cases. lol

Re: Games Acquired 2016

Been meaning to post this, but I've been a little bit sick over the weekend, and busy with work over the week. Last Friday, I picked up the stack of 15 NES games on the right, plus the two rightmost UDF figures for about $100. I might have paid a little bit more than I'd like to, but I'm pleased with my purchase. The left stack is just games that I've picked up since school ended in April, since I'm in my hometown for the summer and away from my main collection home. I did, however, pick up a significant amount of games during May, but I sent a lot of them back to my main home recently, but I did keep a lot of the games that I picked up recently here with me.

Speaking of which, minus about 8 or 9 of these games (which I brought home with me to play, such as Star Raiders -- I picked up a boxed Video Touch Pad and had to try it out), I paid about $80 or so for all of the pictured games, including the boxed Video Touch Pad, a ColecoVision, a ColecoVision Expansion Module #1, an Atari 2600 Jr., and a bounty of controllers and hookups for each in a tupperware container.
I'll be posting in greater detail about the games that I picked up this year once all of my games are settled in and accounted for at the end of August, but right now, the estimate for number of games that I acquired in 2016 is about... 200 or so? I'll make a better update in August.
I picked this up as well in May, for around the same price. It certainly is a great release.Xeogred wrote:Love how nice this Dead or Alive Ultimate release is on Xbox, got it brand new for $11.49. Nice!
Crystalis is one of the best NES games, and Air Fortress and M.C. Kids aren't bad. I also love the NES ports of Gyruss, Rolling Thunder, and Rush 'n Attack. (Keep Fist of the North Star out of your NES, however...)
Also, I am delighted to see someone else collecting second generation games, and even though I have hundreds of hundreds of Atari 2600 games, I covet your copy of Beamrider. (Your Zellers games and your copy of Skiing/Le Ski give away your location!)

Thank you! I've been playing a little bit of Crystalis while sick, as well as M.C. Kids earlier today (it was actually priority 1 on my wish list for the longest time). I'll be getting around to playing Rush'n Attack later today, after I see Finding Dory.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Nice!

But yeah, I'm a canuck, haha. Atari is great to collect for, I love it, and especially for those weird Canadian exclusives/variants/bootlegs. If you think the Beamrider cartridge is worth coveting, wait until you see my copy of Gas Hog!

Re: Games Acquired 2016
Living in Maine I occasionally see Canadian variants trickle down across the border. Never seen any of that Atari stuff in person though. I admit that I'd like at least a few Zellers items in my collection someday.
