Better late than never I suppose. I just picked up Pier solar and the great architects on Ebay. I was putting a lot of money into the hopes I would like this game, and boy ever was I right. Not only is the game great, but the packaging is better than any game you'll pick up nowadays. But that game though (Ha). If you enjoy the 16 bit era RPG's of Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, etc., I highly recommend this game. It does command quite a price, but if you looking for something new (2010.....I know), and you love classic RPG's: pick it up.
PS- I am new to forums.....Can anyone tell me how to change your profile pic and signature?

VGA hookup? A shame most newer TVs do not have a VGA input, hopefully yours has it.noiseredux wrote:not sure if I'm gonna be on tonight. I did some Spring Cleaning over the weekend and moved my DC to my big screen instead of my desk. But now I gotta find a longer phone chord. And I have a lot of aliens to kill in XCOM 2.

VGA to HMDI converters aren't that expensive these days. I got mine for about $20, and it works great.CRTGAMER wrote:VGA hookup? Yep, Pier Solar is cool stuff. I'm assuming this was the Dreamcast version given where this is posted. I haven't looked, but are there any major differences between that version and the original Genesis version? That's the one I have.pteague87 wrote:Better late than never I suppose. Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Yes, I failed to mention the version for Dreamcast. Honestly, I have never played the genesis version, so I can't make that comparison. But I think it looks a little graphically superior than say SNES or Genesis, but I'm only saying that out of opinion.Sarge wrote:Yep, Pier Solar is cool stuff. Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
The Dreamcast version of Pier Solar is the HD remastered version that was also released on PSN, Xbox, Wii U, Android, iOS etc (just in 480p instead of 1080p for obvious reasons). It's a complete graphical overhaul, with widescreen 16:9 support, improved music/sound and a few gameplay tweaks here and there.
You can switch between the Genesis and Remastered graphics and sound options in the menu.

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Okay, I couldn't remember how "HD" they made it. Did they implement any rebalancing? The game could have certainly used some in a few areas.
Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
I heard they implemented some rebalancing, but that there was still issues.
I haven't played the Genesis original and haven't read too much on the differences, so can't really comment sorry.
