While I agree with many of the entries in your post, I'm afraid I can't agree with this. I actually enjoyed the first KF more than the second.Sarge wrote:King's Field 2 - For Exhuminator.I'm sure he'd agree

PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
I tried, sensei, I tried!
(EDIT: Oh, wait, I can maybe save myself here... were we talking about the US KF1 vs. KF2, or the Japanese? I was thinking about the latter.)

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
- Shining Force (Genesis) - I'm close to the point where my game erased and I had to start over.
- Phantasy Star Online (Dreamcast) - I have beaten the game!
- Thousand Arms (Playstation 1) - I have beaten the game!
- Metal Saga (Playstation 2) - I have beaten the game!
- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - I have beaten the game.
- Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic - I have beaten the game.
Metal Saga is off the list.
I only have one left and that is the game I have been playing the most. I'm close to where I was before and I am so much stronger than before!

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
Thanks for the tip. Works well against some of the trickier enemies. As far as magic goes I've really just been using this and the heal spell. For offensive combat I just use a combination of regular attacks and those special moves that don't deplete MP.alienjesus wrote: Nicole's best boss killing tactic is to trap an enemy in the corner and spam the barrier attack. Does that AI undead warrior dude "steal" XP? I think so, so I've been keeping him on defense.
Game is tough. Made some headway but then GAME OVER. Sent back to the beginning with my save erased. Savage, brah.
Think I'm going to attempt the game on Easy mode to get really acquainted with the mechanics. Once I finish it on Easy (hopefully?) I'll return to normal.
Oh, and is there ever a reason to choose "Try Again" after losing a life? It sends you back to the beginning of the stage and uses up a continue. What's the point?
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
Well, that was interesting. After a few runs getting back into the swing of things, I managed to get through Mortal Kombat 3 and take down Shao Kahn. I played mostly as Sektor and circumvented my blocking needs by instead learning a cheap 2-hit combo involving his homing missile and teleport punch while also spamming his dumbfire missile to catch jumping or otherwise off-guard opponents. While this tactic did not work on the first boss, Motaro, he's instead highly susceptible to jumpkicks, so I leapt around and took him out that way in a couple of close rounds. Unfortunately since Sektor's missiles don't cause any kind of stun, Shao Kahn then proceeded to shoulder check me into a wall and have his way with me. More than once. He stuns you even while you block, and he hits both a standing and crouching opponent with his specials, so despite my attempts to turtle, it was a mess. Even when I successfully blocked, he just chipped me to death. It was not a fun experience.
Eventually I gave up and swapped to Sub-Zero. I then proceeded to freeze my way to the top. Freezing works on Shao Kahn, so I just spammed it and uppercuts to win the game. There are better things I could have done(combing after a freeze for instance), but I don't know MK3 Sub-Zero well enough to combo with him. Now that I think about it, I wonder if I could have used somewhat similar tactics with Sektor's homing missiles while Shao Kahn taunts to then combo into the teleport punch and keep me relatively out of the corner.
I feel less like I learned the game and more like I just learned how to be cheap at the game.
Up next: Ultima II

Damn Ack, you are a machine.
Am I missing something here tough:
NOW PLAYING:
Ultima II
8/10 BEATEN:
Alone in the Dark
Call of Duty 2
Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra
Mortal Kombat 3
Sanitarium
Silent Hill
Thief Gold
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
Unless I'm being retarded (quite possible) I only see 9 games including Ultima II.

No, you're not missing anything. I decided to drop the selection pool thing a few games back because I was pretty set on what I planned to play. I'm just not telling you guys ahead of time what the games are. I've got Ultima II and then one final mystery game for my 10th challenge. It was one of the games from the selection pool, but I feel like this makes it more interesting, for you guys to get to speculate.
