Looking to stiffen up the spring on SF4 TE stick

So I've been using my Hori FS3 for a while now, and after I replaced the square gate with an octo I've been loving it. Today my SF4 TE stick arrived, and the first thing I noticed (after swapping out the gate again) is that the the stick is much looser than the FS3. This caused me to frequently jump when I was trying to do a fireball, as I would move one notch too many. Any ideas as to how I would stiffen up the spring, whether it be through replacing it with something else or just doing something to the spring to make it tighter?

I think you may need to replace the spring.
