Re: PC build thread
I am really not familiar enough w AMD to compare. Just thought I would mention since I have a spare.
Re: PC build thread
Depends what you are doing. Single core performance, the Sandy Bridge pull away by like 15-20%,thus in most games (that use 4 or less cores) you will see the Sandy bridge on par or pull ahead by 15-20%, if the game is being bottle necked by the CPU, however the 8320 shits it in with Cache, etc.marlowe221 wrote:I don't know, is that better than what I have now? You can also overclock the FX-8320, it would be the first thing I did if you have not already? People use to get the FX-8320 to like 3.8ghz on the stock cooler (which is much better than intels stock).

That's cool, I'm honestly not very familiar with Intel's line of CPUs. I'll have to do a little homework.noiseredux wrote:I am really not familiar enough w AMD to compare. Just thought I would mention since I have a spare.

I have not overclocked the FX-8320 - I don't actually know how to do that.
I don't have the stock cooler though. I forget what it is, even though it's sitting right here beside me as I type, staring at me through the side window of my tower. It is definitely a 3rd party air cooler though.

Re: PC build thread
Look up a guide, it is simple if you are not upping voltages and what not (which you don't have to do for a small overclock and the dangers of overclocking only come from voltages, not actually overclocking).
You will most likely find people have videos or guides with close to your exact setup. I would always overclock (I do the second I get hardware anyhow) before upgrading.

Re: PC build thread
Ordered the 1060.
I'm not sure if this will be a huge jump from my Radeon 7950, but it should bump me over the PS4 and maybe be a little future proof. Really can't beat the price either way.
