Dragon Quest II is going well. I got a boat, and I went to Alfegard. There wasn't much there; so, I am just sailing around the world grinding experience and gold. Once I have enough to buy the hammer, I will head back to the Dracolord's castle.

I've sunk many hours into this game these last few days. Without making much progress.

It's a brutal, old-school, non-linear JRPG with decidedly "Western" flair and aesthetics. I love it.

(I have it on PC, not PC-FX. Had to show off that rad cover art though.)

What was the deal with all those 90s JRPGs having photographed clay sculptured scenes? There's quite a few that used that motif for the box art.

Not that there's anything bad about it. But that fad didn't last long.
