LA Noire had me hooked from the moment I started it. The gameplay gets a little tedious after a while, but I still couldn't put it down.

I don't think so. Gamestop sells it for $9.99 used, and even that might be up a few bucks from when I bought it.
Any good combo/collections out there you guys can think of? Apparently they still aren't as good as the PS3 though, I'm not seeing a Gears 1-3 bundle.
They did do the "Gears of War Triple Pack", which is only 1-2 + DLC. Still, it exists.

There are some of the same ones that are on PS3, like the DMC/ZoE/Silent Hill/etc remasters. Also some value bundles of different series. The Assassin's Creed Americas one might be worth snagging, as while III and IV are otherwise available, it also includes Liberation (the Vita one), which is otherwise only available digitally for 360. Same for the Lords of Shadow Collection, which only includes a demo for 2...but rolls in Mirror of Fate HD. Arguably, stuff like the Mass Effect Trilogy goes with the console (though better on PC).
There are also nice XBLA type compilations, like the Capcom Digital Collection, Dreamcast collection, etc.

Forza is more or less the Gran Turismo for Microsoft. At least for the main series. Horizon goes in more of a Need for Speed type direction.

I'm playing Metal Gear Rising, it's fantastic. Granted, I am playing the PS3 version, but the 360 version runs a few dollars cheaper.

Yep, it is. Amazing how it didn't click with me when I got it, but picking it back up this year, I enjoyed the heck out of it.

Two interesting exclusives I've bumped into recently thanks to Amazon Warehouse are Import Tuner Challenge and Naval Assault: The Killing Tide. Import Tuner Challenge is actually a Tokyo Xtreme Racer game they just changed the name for whatever idiotic reason, and Naval Assault is like a more arcade style silent hunter.

WWWHHHHHAAAAT!?!?!

*buys them instantly*

Seriously though, I've wanted to try Jet Set Willy since I saw Guru Larry talk about it in a GYCW aaaages ago. Thanks for the heads up :D

Not sure how many of these are exclusives, but yeah check out Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Resonance of Fate, Enchanted Arms, Magna Carta 2, and NIER.

Bayonetta = It's DmC with a girl. Wasn't feeling it off the bat. Not a bad game though, I can tell it's solid. Just wasn't what I was looking for at the time.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag = Very awesome graphics and variety of gameplay. However, I had not played any of the previous Assassin's Creeds (outside the Vita one), and felt totally lost on the overall plot (Abstergo VR wtf) and background elements. So I put it aside for now. I'll play this series in order so I actually have a clue.
Well... I'm going to opt for the PS3 in most cases for JRPG's and I already have Nier covered. Wasn't impressed with Enchanted Arms, kind of a go to joke game with my one friend who had it at the time, it's just so obviously early-gen stuff for that console. Resonance of Fate seemed really cool when I rented it but I didn't give it enough time to sink into its weird battle system. I won't be getting this stuff on 360 though.

I'm a big fan of PS2 era Japanese action games, and Bayonetta is naturally the closest thing to that genre nowadays... but I didn't like the first one. I just beat 2 which kind of made me a fan somewhat and the U version of the first seems to be the best by a good bit. From what I understand the PS3 version is really bad, so at least you got the good version. But yeah, my first impression with the first game wasn't very good. Turns out that 2 is a prequel anyways, so it kind of works out, I'll give it another shot.

Not to dissuade you from Assassin's Creed since II is one of my favorite games from last gen, but the Abstergo plot sounds like it has zero importance in Black Flag, and that main plot arc is resolved in either Revelations or III. So Black Flag doesn't even tie into the others, everyone else will tell you it should have been called Pirates Creed and it's the one you can just randomly check out...

Since then, they've been milking the franchise with new timelines and not doing anything noteworthy from what I've universally heard, hence nobody seems to care to talk about these games outside of the first month of release, or we just get memes and jokes about how broken they are. Also Assassin's Creed 1 is really bad gameplay wise, I hope you enjoy punishing repetition because it's basically 3 mission types stretched across a dozen cities and 10+ hours, and the Abstergo portions in this were awful. Very cool plot and ideas though, but yikes. II is a classic however and Brotherhood was fantastic. It's been enough time for me to be curious to jump back in with them, but I'm not expecting anything much beyond a fun aimless sandbox. Really disappointing because the behind the scenes story II was building up to seemed really cool. I think the main writer left after II, Brotherhood, or somewhere around there.

I was derpy enough to actually buy every Assassin's Creed available for 360. Because it was a staple series of the 7th gen, basically. The only AssCreed I've played (and beaten) was the Vita one, and it was technically impressive as hell but kind of boring. I'm hoping some of the 360 ones will be more interesting. But yeah Black Flag was cool pirate stuff, then suddenly I'm walking around Abstergo and people are talking about VR jacking into DNA and templars and I don't know. Ubisoft should have just made a pirate game on its own.

I've bought a lot of 360 games off eBay lately. Only stuff I couldn't get for less than $20 new from Amazon. My copies of these arrived today:

Man, just take your time. It's an easy series to burn yourself out on, I still haven't even played Revelations and beyond lol. (probably didn't help I was a completionist with II and Brotherhood so I put a lot of time into them). I also felt like Jesper Kyd not composing after the first few probably did some damage, I've never heard anyone talk up III's OST or anything like that.

Always heard good things about The Saboteur, but it's open world city sandbox #4000 for last gen.

Glad you guys are talking up LA Noire, I put that on my wishlist last night actually. I'm really fed up of GTA after 5, but Rockstar probably still has some quality stuff in between those.

I want to be the first to point out that LA Noire is not like GTA, very different experience. LA Noire is an adventure game at heart. You can actually skip the open world stuff entirely and just do the main cases in sequence (letting your AI partner drive skips the actual driving).

If you passed over LA Noire, I strongly advise going back and revisiting it. Although from what I've read, PS3 was the lead platform, so you might want to go that route.
