Hello
I know there have been a lot of topics about which game you will take
with you if you were on an island alone.
This is kind of different. It is not even your favorite system. Because your favorite system is the one you love and have special memories of it.
But I am talking about today and forever , if they keep making games for this system you would still be buying and you would still be playing it. You swear oath to it and be loyal for it as the top console and favorite forever.
Someone might say this is easy, because the newer console has better graphics and maybe better game selection they would say that is better choice. I bet that is not going to be the truth, I think least liked will be current day console but let us see.
I am not sure if we should count the VC and XBL part of the console since its cheating by allowing you to play other console games on the system through emulation.
For me , it would be either Snes or the N64. I never owned an N64, I have one now from a friend. The Snes I did buy it when it was about to die and I hardly recall playing it, but I played it at my friends' homes, it was like my dream. I do not know what went wrong when I bought it, I only recall buying 1 game for it which was free with the system. I think the N64 release was in a year's time after I got my snes, it was super famicom.
I am afraid to say Snes because I hardly have memories of me owning it, and I am afraid that Snes games today are not as good as I recall them, specially controls on some games. So I am settling on this, since this oath should be forever , I am swearing oath to the N64. I have some kind of love relationship with that system I do not know why.
Some really good choices are psx and ps2 since the great library that I do not think any one would get bored or finish them all ever, but I hardly have seen cult following or love to those systems ever. Who do you swear oath to?

Re: I swear oath to this system
Interesting question--especially the part about the continuation of games coming out for the system. Obviously the current gen systems have more power, but that also encourages developers to use that power for fancy 3D engines. If it weren't for that it would be easy to point to one of the current gen consoles and say "they can just remake everything on it eventually," but "they" probably wouldn't.
That said, I'll go w/ the Saturn because I think while developers would try to churn out some 3D stuff (that might in fact be good), they'd also continue to take advantage of the great 2D performance of the Saturn. Not to mention I could probably be happy with the existing library for a long, long time anyway.

SNES for me.
Re: I swear oath to this system
112 N64 games?
They keep complaining about the low number of games released for the 64, I think 112 can last you a lifetime maybe

I would have to say the Dreamcast,it all the great 2D fighters I love and it has great 3D games too,its has the best of both worlds.I would say of said PS2,but I don't feel the same about it.
Systems: Sega Dreamcast(x2), Sega Genesis(x2), Sega Saturn, Sega CD, Genmobile (portable Genesis), FC Twin, PSX, PS2(x2), GBA, SP, Xbox 360, N64, Showcase Arcade

I don't think there were 112 good games for N64. Or are you just trying to collect every single one?

This one was a hard one...
I guess I'll go with SNES
