Yeah, I picked up my copy years ago for like $6. I certainly got that much out of it.

Technically it does.
 Post of the year, right there. That is some darn fine pedantic smart-assery. I tip my fancy hat to you, sir.

Doubt this is an unpopular opinion, but you wanna know what really grinds my shit?

When a compilation contains sequels whilst omitting predecessors. For instance, Data East Arcade Classics has Wizard Fire but no Gate of Doom. It also has Magical Drop III but omits parts one and two.

SNK Arcade Classics 0 has Vanguard 2. No Vanguard. Vol. 1 pulls the same shit with a couple of games.

Then you have stuff in the wrong order. Look at Konami Classics. Contra is on volume 2, Super C on volume 1.

Don't even get me started on the multiple variations of Taito Legends 2.

What the shit.

Limbo and Inside look dumb to me.

It's cool they exist and how big gaming is, there's something for everyone I guess.

"Too deep" for me.

Grade A bullshit right there. The original Vanguard is one of the best shmups of all time.

"Artsy" games are pretty hit-or-miss for me. I really like Journey. Others, not so much.

And yes, Vanguard is the shit. Thankfully there are three Atari ports.

The first time my mom ever got on me about "cussing" was while I was playing Vanguard for the 2600. I was like 8 years old and got pissed and said, "Die you bastards!" while blowing up ships in the game. My mom heard me and said I wasn't allowed to call things "bastards".

This reminds me... I've got the PSP version of Vanguard. I need to check it out.

The 2600 port of Vanguard simply owns. But Vanguard II isn't too bad once you try it. I wish the control wasn't so bad sometimes.
