Not at all. I would guess that in a few years you could get 5-6 Nintendo Selects (say, Mario Maker, Super Mario 3D World, Yoshi's Wooly World, Captain Toad, Pikmin 3, and Kirby's Rainbow Curse) in some kind of B2G1 sale at Best Buy for ~$60 and probably a used Wii U itself for ~$50-$75 (some have sold on eBay recently around $100-$120 already) and have a full Wii U experience for the cost of 2 new retail games on the NX or some such. You wait, you'll see nice Wii U bundles around the $100 mark within the next two-three years, easy.ejamer wrote:Is this a troll comment, or sarcasm that I've missed? Rydon, when you can pick up the system and its top five games for $100 or so, maybe then it would be worth your time and money.
Wii U Exclusive Games List
Re: Wii U Exclusive Games List
Re: Wii U Exclusive Games List
The U isn't the only "awesome 10 games system" in my collection, haha. I never had much for the Sega CD, Dreamcast, Xbox, or Gamecube either. (renewing my love for the Xbox lately though with how cheap it is to collect for). And hell count up those exclusives you have... is it more than what the PS4 or Xbone offer? I wouldn't be surprised. But the PS4 train is going stronger than ever.
I'm sure I could round up about 20 some quality games for the U and to me that's a good keeper. This is also not counting all the VC stuff I've gotten which is an easy and convenient way to replay a lot of the classics.
Anyways, the others pointed this out to the OP as I asked it in another thread recently as well, but yeah I don't really expect U games to drop in price much, unlike the Wii. It seems like it'll be an expensive system to collect for.

Re: Wii U Exclusive Games List
I think it will be expensive too for screwball low print run third party games, not so much the 1st party unless you have a bug in your butt about not having a Selects re-release. Look how disgusting the prices got on stuff like Pikmin 3 a good year after it came out because of NIntendo's limited run practices. The Selects kick its price and others in the butt pretty hard.
If you want first run WiiU 1st party games and the good 3rd party releases (or in general a full set) it's going to get ugly. It's a combination low release system and lower runs of game release system too. Nothing awful like the Virtual Boy where you have a few cheap ones, then into the 100s and 1000s for complete, but it's not going to be a firesale like Wii stuff. Certain games only got 10k or 100k runs on WiiU because of their sales problems. Once collectors sort through that mess and get theirs good luck finding one for yourself, especially if you're into NEW or even Like New quality stuff.

Re: Wii U Exclusive Games List
I own 55 Wii U retail games, 27 eShop releases, and 6 virtual console games. I've got all but 9 of the exclusives listed in the op and the rest are on my list to get. Color Splash isn't even out yet and others are missing. There are some real gems in that group though and others that are not so good but still enjoyable like Mario Tennis.
My FS/FT/WTTF list:

Re: Wii U Exclusive Games List
Thanks for all the input. To reiterate, the list I made was not the complete physical disc release for Wii U, it was just the physical exclusives that I am interested in for the Wii U. I will look into Zombi U and Rayman.
For Devils Third, I looked into this. It seems that it was released on Wii U and PC, which is why it didn't show up on the pull I did from Wikipedia. Are there any other Wii U and PC released games? I never thought to look into this for Wii U. I generally look into a single console and PC released game within the OG Xbox and 360.

First, you've moved the goalposts: instead of the best 5 games as claimed initially, now you are saying a selection of (presumably) less popular Nintendo Selects that remain in stock a couple years down the road. That's not the same, and many of the games you list don't even have a Selects version at this time.
Second, you are relying on used prices for the consoles - assuming that condition and availability won't be issues - while excluding any shipping or taxes that might be attached.
My view might be skewed from living in Canada (nothing here is as cheap as in the US) but suggesting that people can wait a couple of years and get the best that Wii U has to offer for less than $100 isn't reasonable. It might happen, in fact I'm sure someone will get an amazing used deal at some point... but it's not likely and not something that people can/should count on.

u mad bro? No bullshit here at all.
The Nintendo Selects are the best selling first party games, and the ones in that line now are easily amongst the very best on the console. I can get them new at Best Buy for about $16 each with the Gamers Club thing they have. 4 games=~$60. If they run a B2G1 deal (usually around the holidays), it is VERY reasonable to think that you could get the 5-6 best selling first party games for the console for about $60 new.
Like I said, Wii U consoles are already hovering around the $100 mark used for an 8gb model on eBay. I stand by my claim that you should quite reasonably expect to put together outstanding Wii U bundles for $100ish in a few years. If you want to kick it up to $125 or even $150, go ahead...but you can already get a good bundle today for $200 with minimum work. When the games are clearing out in a few years, $100 is a vey feasible price point to explore much of the best of the system.
Re: Wii U Exclusive Games List
If yours right hell I might be tempted again that cheap. Probably just buy selects to avoid price jacking collectards.
