I've had this idea for a thread for a while now. Basically the idea is that not every gamer has every platform, right? Or maybe you prefer one over another. So this is a thread for recommendations on games on one platform that you could play instead of games on another. If that makes sense...?
For instance, let's say somebody was interested in Lumines but didn't have a PSP or PS3, and they want to know if there's any games like that on a Sega system? Then you might suggest they play Irides on Dreamcast.
Get what I mean?

Instead of playing Where's Waldo on NES, watch paint dry!
Am I doing it right?

no. Your post should be a question.ElkinFencer10 wrote: Am I doing it right?
Example:
You post something like "I'd like to play Harvest Moon, but I only have a PC. Are there any games like Harvest Moon on PC?"
and then somebody responds "you should try Stardew Valley!"

Not a bad concept, but maybe the thread should be called:noiseredux wrote:no. Your post should be a question.ElkinFencer10 wrote: Am I doing it right?

"Play THIS if you can't play THAT" or "Play THIS if you like THAT"
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

OK, I want to play Mario Maker, but I don't have a WiiU. I really want a 2D platformer with good physics and a built-in level editor. How about a similar game on PC or Mac. One caveat: My computer is decidedly ancient and low powered. I need a PC or Mac game that has low system requirements.

How about the SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics packs on Steam? Their recently added workshop support should give you what you are after.samsonlonghair wrote:OK, I want to play Mario Maker, but I don't have a WiiU. Conversely you could also look into Super Mario Bros. X, which is a fan game that incorporates co-op and a level editor.dsheinem wrote:How about the SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics packs on Steam? I'm allergic to steam.dsheinem wrote:How about the SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics packs on Steam? Their recently added workshop support should give you what you are after.
That looks like a winner to me.Ack wrote:Conversely you could also look into Super Mario Bros. X, which is a fan game that incorporates co-op and a level editor.
Re: Play THIS if you can't play THAT
I'd love to play Super Metroid but don't have an SNES... any suggestions for an alternative on Sega Genesis?
