Post by countcowden »

Whos playing?

Just played the first level, pretty impressed. Looks like the ps3 is finally showing its graphics potential.

As usual though you cant get online on the first day. :(

i picked up my copy this past friday (release day) the first thing i did was switch the controls to the call of duty layout, the default settings didnt feel right to me.. other than that its a great FPS a, i like the cover system, online medals and badges are cool. i also like how in multiplayer all the game modes such as team deathmatch/assassination/Search & Retrieve/Search & Destroy/capture and hold are in the same round.

the graphics are really good, probably the best on any system right now, muddy browns and grays never looked so good.

haha it kinda feels clunky and mid paced, im used to fast paced W@W, so this is a step back but it feels way more tactical that COD does, wich is pretty cool

see when i played it i thought it was smooth, it wasnted CoD4 to me, and nothing ever tops the first time i played quake. If it were on PC where i could atleast use a keyboard and mouse id probly love it. But i dont know if i can really even say that.

CoD4 i have on the xbox, had on the ps3, have on computer and i still played the hell out of that on all consoles. Something about killzone 2 just didnt feel right, it left me feeling like...it was empty.

Honestly...it could be from all the talk and hype this game got. That alone can ruin a game for me, i build it up in my own head after seeing/reading everything that pops up about a game get it then i let myself down.

Some people prefer the so-called "realism" in the controls, but the latest patch made them more Halo-esque.

Let me say for the record, I totally love this game.

The controls are fine IMO, it reminds me of trying to learn in counter strike way back when I was into PC gaming.

At least theres three people now on racketboy showing the love. Only another 9 to go and we can arrange a game.

Does it support legacy controls? I have found mixed information about this.

Legacy controls are when the right stick moves and turns and the left stick looks and strafes. If so, I will rent it when I am at my friends place in a couple months and will be down for some multiplayer.
