It's fine to be upset over it. I just think that a lot of people spend too much time speculating over Nintendo's motivation:
It's money.
Nintendo is a large, relatively sophisticated organization, and (I would hope), it doesn't make decisions to edit content capriciously. (That is, I expect it has a team of capable people who analyze how to modify content to maximize its appeal to different audiences.) Without knowing the factors that influence its decision - and in light of the organization's goal - I can't state whether its decision is right or wrong.
Again, it is fine to be disappointed with the decision, personally, but I think that speculating over the organization's motivations or whether its decisions ultimately serve its financial interests is a pointless endeavor.

I could make some arguments about why I disagree with you, but neither of us are going to change our minds regardless. We all have our minds made up on this issue by now.
I'm not buying the censored version of TMS anyway. There's a way to play the uncensored original version with English subtitles, and I'm about that.
Not quite the same thing with Link, though. That's not nearly as sexual, which is what I'm sure they're looking to avoid.
As prfsnl_gmr says, I can see why folks might be upset, but I'm sure it's just a case where they don't want the controversy in a game that they'd like to sell at least a decent number of copies of.

I assure you that there are people who find shirtless Link sexually arousing. On other forums I've seen a lot of distinct comments concerning this aspect (with some folks calling it subversive and progressive in addition).
I feel the change is unnecessary to me. Unfortunately, not everyone in America thinks like I do. Japan and America are different cultures, with different things considered acceptable and unacceptable. I think it's reasonable for you to disagree with the change. I think it's reasonable for you to seek out a way to avoid the change. But there's no reason to get your hackles up over it.

Everything is sexually arousing to someone. Doesn't mean shirtless link is intended to be sexually arousing. Whereas the original character design you showed from FE X SMT (I can't actually get the real name to stick in my head) was obviously designed to be sexually arousing.

I'm sure they do. But that's not what it's meant as, despite what some make it out to be.
By the same token, a woman in tiny underwear usually is perceived here as sexual. I'd wager there are a lot more folks turned on by that outfit than those that exclaim Link is hot from that photo.
Again, if that's your thing, that's cool. But sometimes dealing with cultural expectations is something you have to indulge in to maximize profits. I guess it just doesn't bother me as much. I've got no proverbial dog in this hunt.

The best thing I can do for my hackles, is to vote with my money. As in, not spend my money on a product that supports censorship. And that's the plan personally.
But to turn this whole shebang around and say something positive...
I'm glad to see 2016's first significant, physical USA Wii U release, coming to pass on June 24th. I'm glad Wii U stalwarts will have something meaty to play. (If say Pokken Tournament or LEGO Marvel's Avengers weren't their cup of tea.)

So what really IS Tokyo Mirage? I'm not that familiar with SMT, but from what I saw, it looked far more like Persona than anything remotely Fire Emblem-y, and I'd be playing it for the Fire Emblem-y.
In terms of new games to buy, it'd be something next month, and it'd be a toss up between dis, Overwatch, and Kirby Robobot (the demo for which I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday).
