Definitely check out Akai Katana and Raiden Fighter Aces. As for non-shmup exclusives, I'd recommend the Gears of War series, Halo (before 4), Perfect Dark Zero (but only for the local multiplayer), and Left 4 Dead.

Couldn't you assume I knew of Halo from above?

Perfect Dark Zero is a thing of nightmares. Maybe I should get it for morbid curiosity, I remember even right out of the gate though it was insanely bad and one of the biggest letdowns ever for me. Holy crap, I think I even owned it a little before I even got a 360. PD64 was so good... what a disaster sequel. lol

lmfao, well, you asked about exclusives, and Microsoft consoles don't get many! I really enjoy PDZ's local multiplayer, but yeah, it's utter rubbish in every other regard.

I don't know much about 360 shmups (and I too am interested in knowing about the best ones), nor do I know much about compilations.

I do know some good exclusives though.

And by "good", I mean in my weird assed esoteric opinion your mileage may vary "good":

There are also a great many games where the 360 version was technically superior to the PS3 version, let alone the Wii version (if a Wii port even existed).

I'm surprised you didn't mention Bikini Samurai Squad.

I thought about it, but then I realized only two people here care about the game, and you're the other one.

I just wrote a wall of text and a few more comments showed up. If you care, here it is.

Some decent exclusive-ish comps that have physical releases:
- Dreamcast Collection (Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, etc.),
- Qubed (Rez, Lumines, Every Extend Extra)
- One of the Konami Collections has Castlevania SOTN and Super Contra
- A Triple Pack with Trials HD, Limbo, and 'Splosion Man
- There's a region free PAL Triple Pack with Outland, From Dust, and Beyond Good & Evil HD

There's some other good ones that I'm not thinking of right this second.

My two favorite cheapy shmups are Deathsmiles and Mushihimesama Futari. If you're willing to go into the triple digits money-wise, the Muchi Muchi Pork and Pink Sweets double pack is pretty good.

There's some other decent cheaper titles like Akai Katana and some Raiden games along with a region frees like some Dodonpachi action and Espgaluda II.

If you're willing to pay the premium on a JP 360 there's a ton of decent stuff, too.

Digital shmups include some classics like Radiant Silvergun (and other awesome Saturn non-shmups like NiGHTS and Guardian Heroes), Ikaruga, and Triggerheart Exelica. You can also pick up some other more obscure digital stuff like Strania, KoF Sky Stage, and Deathsmiles II on your American 360 as well.

There's plenty more suggestions I'm sure that others can make.
tl;dr - Lots of good comps and shmups. k, bai.

I bought Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad brand new when it came out for $60 (or maybe it was $50, but it was at LEAST that). I can't think of another single time in my entire life where I wasted $50 as bad as that.

lol

Definitely a nice list I was looking for though. I'll research some of those. I think if there are any FPS's that are only on 360/PS3 and not PC (not sure if that exists haha), I'd go with the 360 version, but otherwise I'll probably stick with the PS3 even though like you guys have said the multiplatform releases seem best on the 360 sometimes.

One exclusive that is kind of an oddball and which I've only seen a handful of times at gamestop is Zoids Assault. It's supposedly a pretty mediocre strategy game, but I'm a sucker for anything published by Atlus so I picked up a disc only copy ages ago at gamestop, but it's buried pretty deep in the back log.
