Same. I'm pissed that's it's gotten delayed so much, and I've poked fun at it, but I'm still betting that I'll have a fuck-ton of fun with it.Xeogred wrote:Man even if I rag on the game a little myself, it's depressing to see them getting so much shit. Jim Sterling played it a bit and said he thinks its alright (not great, but certainly not bad) so if he can manage it through the walls of cynicism he's erected around it, maybe people will give it a fair shake.Xeogred wrote:Man even if I rag on the game a little myself, it's depressing to see them getting so much shit. It might be for the best that my bar is so lowered.

The (middling) reviews are in!!!
From what I have read...(1) it has excellent gameplay; (2) it has excellent boss fights; (3) it is very challenging; (4) the graphics are bad; and (5) the level design is only OK.
For $20, I will give it a shot.

Have yall seen the trailer Deep Silver put out? Somehow I managed to avoid hearing about that until this morning, but I watched it, and it's truly cringe worthy. "Make the bad guys cry like anime fans on prom night." Bro. You realize that, with the art style and sub-par graphics used, half of the people (at least) who would buy the game are probably anime fans, right? I mean, shit, they've all got giant anime eyes...

We whined about it a few pages back. Deep Silver could not be more out of touch. Even the CEO of Inti Creates bitched them out on Twitter over it.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Have yall seen the trailer Deep Silver put out? As for the reviews,
From Destructoid:
That was pretty much what I feared. I wasn't that impressed with the demo. If it hasn't improved much from that I'm expecting the experience to be passable but mediocre. My opinion of Mighty No. 9's gameplay hasn't changed much since my time with the demo many moons ago.

5/10s across the board pretty much.
I'm glad I cancelled my pre-order then. I don't treat reviews as gospel and have bought plenty of games that had 'average' review scores that I enjoyed, but I played the game last year at EGX and it didn't really impress me a whole lot. Sounds like it's as we expected.
Maybe I'll get it further down the line. We'll see.

So I suppose Inafune has had his "Romero's Bitch" moment, eh?

probably the worse thing that will happen Capcom is probably feeling vindicated right and that them trying to kill the mega man franchise with no new games is justified...see what happened to mighty no.9.
Re: Mighty No. 9 - Keiji Inafune / comcept kicksarter projec
Capcom hasn't looked back regardless.
