Ah, so you're sitting on two 11/10 S rank titles there. 1 and 3 are legendary. I got the platinum for 3 which was pretty crazy.

2 isn't as bad as I heard, but still pretty bad. Never touching it again. lol, the story is that Kamiya who did the first game, didn't even know 2 was being made until he saw it in a magazine. Nice communication Capcom!

1 is really cool because it's mostly serious and pretty dark. You can still see the remnants of what could have been RE4 with it.

The problem I had with Sigma 2 is it was severely censored compared to the original:

"Almost all the gore has been removed. Purple mist now bursts from enemies, along with reduced blood splashes. Dismembered body parts no longer stay on the ground, but vanish. Additionally, cinematics have been altered to remove dismemberment, dissection and blood effects. Even the pause menu and game over screens are colored blue instead of red to reflect this change."

Well blood doesn't give me boners so I didn't care at all. Basically, I played Sigma 2 here in 2016, because the demo of the 360 version was that unplayable to me and turned me off for years.

3 looks gory as hell so I'm guessing the engine got a lot better there.

My understanding is that the changes were based more on the PS3's technical limitations compared to the Xbox 360.

From what I have read and experienced, the best way to experience the second Ninja Gaiden Trilogy is:

Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox)
Ninja Gaiden II (Xbox 360)
Ninja Gaiden III Razor's Edge (Wii U)

Also, anyone interested in the series should not miss Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword (NDS). It is very, very solid.

I wonder how unoptimized the demo was compared to final build.

I own a copy of Ninja Gaiden Black for Xbox. I wonder if I'm man enough to handle it or if I'm just a ninja dog after all. Guess that should be my next OG Xbox game.

Huh, I didn't experience any issues with the 360 version. Maybe it got patched up?

Get both. The 360 version is only $7 at Gamestop, and it used to be less than that. (I think I picked up my copy for $4.)
