So what have you guys been watching lately?

Finished the first season of the Sopranos. It was decent. There's like five or six more seasons. I'll watch them eventually, but I'm in no hurry. The show was probably good for its time, but seems kinda tame compared to shows that have come since. At least just going off that first season.

It's a dark humor show about a mid-40's man trying to fulfill his dream of being a professional clown. If you enjoy shows like "Louie"*, you'd probably dig this. I enjoy it, but my wife thinks it's boring.

After we're done with Baskets, we're going to watch Jessica Jones. If that show isn't awesome I'm never listening to you guys again.


*I love Louie, seen every episode, would gladly see more.

I think that you'll think it's awesome. I'm halfway through the season and it feels like less of a superhero show and more of a study of PTSD that just happens to involve superheroes.

After this I'm prob gonna start Daredevil. I just read about the Defenders series coming next year, so I'm excited.

We watched the first season of Daredevil. For me it was a... 7/10 experience. Probably a better show if you can ignore the endless plot holes. (Unfortunately I don't have that ability.) My wife enjoyed Daredevil a lot though, so we will watch the second season for her sake.

I should give the caveat that I'm not really into super heroes, so that's an important factor. My favorite shows of the past few years were stuff like The Wire, Louie, Steve Brule, Psycho-Pass, and of course Breaking Bad.

We watched the first season of Daredevil. For me it was a... 7/10 experience. Probably a better show if you can ignore the endless plot holes. (Unfortunately I don't have that ability.) My wife enjoyed Daredevil a lot though, so we will watch the second season for her sake.

It was more of a 5/10 or 6/10 experience for me. (The leads were almost unbearably dull, but the villain was fantastic. The plot was OK, but the fights were typically pretty great. Also, it has Deborah Ann Woll, who is beautiful.)

I still loved Jessica Jones, however. It was a 10/10 for me. That show killed it.

Boy, shows folks have different tastes. I really liked Daredevil a ton, but I hated (well, more just didn't like) Jessica Jones.

Daredevil season 1 is like a 7-8/10 for me and Daredevil season 2 is like a 6/10 for DD/Elecktra and a 9/10 when The Punisher is around .

Somebody wrote a very interesting article that posited that, in the Marvel / Daredevil universe, The Punisher is actually the most moral character. It's certainly thought-provoking.

This basically summarizes why I stopped watching Daredevil after the first five or six episodes. Sure Deborah Ann Woll is gorgeous, but the other actors are duller than my shaving razor. One other point: The violence of Daredevil shocked me at first, but once the shock factor wore off I found no compelling reason to continue watching.

Sarge, as often is the case, you are spot on here.

DareDevil S1 is an 8/10 show, 9/10 if Elden Henson were replace by someone who could act.

DareDevil S2 is an 9/10 show, add Punisher and Elektra; less Fozzy.

My impressions of Jessica Jones were the same as yours. I've been considering trying it again with all the praise it's getting here, but looking at those praising it, it's mostly weirdos.
