Have you given up on buying SNES?/Cheap SFC recommendations

Been debating getting a super famicom to own carts of some of the more expensive NA games. Like the megaman games and dracula x.

If you already have a SNES then I'd recommend getting one of these instead:



It's multi-region, hooks up to your TV, has a beautiful screen and is generally one of the most awesome things I've ever bought.

Yeah prices are still spiraling out of control. It seems every time I look at valuable SNES, there is a new game added to that list. This time its...Casper...really? Well it's rare so it goes for $140..sigh.

And also Hurricanes has gone up very recently as well. Weird

I'd guess it's because the majority on here are informed. We know what we should be paying and aren't happy to get screwed by all of these wannabe ebay millionaires who found some old carts in their attic and think they are worth hundreds of dollars.

I just had a quick search for Zelda 3 on ebay to see if completed listings tallied to listed prices.

First thing that comes up is someone who paid £25 for the instruction manual!

Then you see the cart alone having sold multiple times for £40!

Then you see the Super Famicom version going for the same!

The first time I saw a complete copy going for £100 I almost felt like punching something. THIS WAS A MASS PRODUCED GAME THAT IS COMMON AS DAY not some obscure unearthed relic that had a print run of 1000 copies!

It's a cycle of idiocy.

The sellers aren't at fault any more or less than the dumbasses who overpay because they refuse to take five minutes to price check what sells for $25 on an open bud auction vs $40 on bin because its easier to be lazy and pay more.

Yes indeedy! Anyone got a cheap copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga and Little Samson they want to let go for... say $50 each? That seems pretty reasonable.

$50 is too easy! That would be letting you off the hook! You want "RARE" games? You want games from established franchises that are far more common that you may think? You want a "SUPER NINTENDO" game?

(note: I realize PDS and LS are rare, but seriously. I also learned my lesson on buying SNES games on eBay!)
