The A/B swap on the GCN version pisses me off...

Shame that they botched the GC version. I own it (don't have either other system) and agree with your comments... although the games are "good" those foolish problems with controls and music make it much less appealing than the others.

That said, it's still an AWESOME collection to own. Mega Man might start to feel repetitive and less innovative after the first several games, but is still a wonderful series with lots of nostalgia. I'll never forget the first time I played Mega Man 2 together with my best friend, or the Christmas Eve when I stayed up all night playing Mega Man 4 and counting down hours until we could find out what suprises were under the tree. Classic.

So I have to ask. Am I the only one who figured out that X = jump Y = shot? That's what I used and I had no controller issues, since it's the same scheme as on the NES.

I guess I should be more specific. The game was still playable, and worked without too much problem... but why not include a button configuration screen? Or at least the option to reverse the defaults? What seems foolish to me is that they included button configuration options in only one version of the game instead of all of them.

Using X and Y wasn't as comfortable for me, so I just got over it and played the games with A and B reversed. Not such a big deal, although it did cause a few frustration deaths once in a while.

I hate that about the Gamecube version. I'd really rather have it on me Gamecube.
