Oh crap, all Wii games now have a minimal price of $4.96 including games that were only ninety nine cents. Only a few accessories and a pile of Skylanders and Infinity are below the $4.99 mark.

Well, at least this prevents Gamestop from just tossing out the inexpensive games. Gamestop in the past has thrown away product when below the dollar mark due to profit loss of paying employees utilizing time for packaging, stocking and selling the low cost games.

I also checked the PS3 listing, physical games also now at minimal of $4.96.

As in any retailer, pretty sure Gamestop will honor a game that still has an older $0.99 price label.
I am sure the $4.96 is the online price. In store they are still the cheaper price. Plenty under $4.99 that have a recent date on the price sticker. I have yet to see a $4.96 price sticker in stores and I just went to five Gamestops yesterday to stock up on Wii games. They are having a buy 2 get 1 on wii and ds games and accessories.

Same here...though I wish with ds games they hadn't trashed the cases. I'm pretty sure all the games I see in there aren't all cart only when they come in but the cases are gone completely from every regular ds game I see except the heartgold, and some other game but that's basically it. Kinda sad....

Pretty sure these games will drop again. They'll be labeled $4.99 but I'm sure gamestop will have a 3 for $10 or 4 for $10 deal in the future.

Like they're doing right now with 4 games for $20.

I just certainly hope thats the incentive so they'll keep the boxes again this time around.

I have bought very little DS games from them this past year. Its been a turn off for me because I already have most of the A+ titles for DS I wouldn't mind having some quirky B or C titles in my DS collection.

Same feeling here. I stopped buying used handheld games from them when they started doing that as it wasn't worth poking around to find something online to call them or be in the area and find something throw in that thin wall case all by itself. The games are so small and very easy to lose I won't buy without the complete package no matter the price (short of it being so cheap I could buy the case/booklet online and break even or come out ahead.)

Well I'm still buying the occasional one here and there if only because I know some of these once people wise up about the ds some of these will jump. Or at least I think they're worth it. I'll buy cases in bulk later along with the manuals(even if they're cheap reprints) or just view them online since almost every manual has to of made it to digital by now with people who scan some of this stuff. I just wish since they know this is when people like us really jump on some of the games we didn't know about until now they'd keep the cases you'd have a crap load of people jumping at the chance to get them then...

Some rare days I do look at the one DS game I kept and think maybe I should grab a few more. I just feel I'd not put enough time into it to be worth my money unfortunately. There was a good selection of titles on that system I really did enjoy and I wouldn't mind having again, and if I really had the time I think a good many I never did explore either for one reason or another. The thing is I'm losing interest in playing games regularly (like every day or two) and holding onto stuff that I won't use (aside from games I've kept since the 80s/90s from retail...memories and all that.) The DS was a fun ride but I can't think of more than a few games I ever went back to mess with a second time. There were a few like Trace Memory, Dawn of Sorrow, FInal Fantasy 3 (the one I kept), the Konami arcade package, Hotel Dusk...

Actually, the Gamestop website online price is identical at the store cash register. The price sticker has not been updated, but the store system will charge the new current price. Of course, the employee will honor the lower price sticker, you just have to point it out.

I have bought games with older higher price stickers, the store system automatically charges the current Gamestop online price. This happened on Wii Mario All Stars which had two price drops within a month of each other. Even though the sticker shows $49.99 dated Jan 2016, the cash register dropped it to $34.99 and now currently at $29.99!

That's funny you say that because as soon as they scanned my cheap wii games the prices came up instantly on the screen, unless Gamestop employee interact with the register telepathically. Current online price is not where the prices comes from. I think your just a little worried over nothing at present. I noticed these price differences months ago and no change as of yet have I seen.

So everyone bought up every single Gamecube game they had listed on the gamestop website site within a few minutes. I didn't have a chance to buy anything. They had some pretty good deals though. Is there any way to subscribe to the website for games on a specific console?

Edit: Argh..I dunno I think the site is just being glitchy. Sometimes it lets me proceed to checkout and sometimes it doesn't
