Make sure you don't stand the Xbox 360 vertical.
I have mine horizontal for a reason - safer and much better air flow.
Who's gotta fatboy PS2 with vertical stand? I DO! :p

really ? that's odd really mine works fine through the component cablesomer wrote:My fat boy PS2 looks so awesome just standing high and mighty!
Oh and if are wondering why I have a PS1 and PS2 both hooked up is because PS1 games show up as a black screen on the PS2 when using RGB component cables.
although, since you mention scart... maybe you are not in america and that has something to do with it.
ps2's are some weird buggers tho

Ya its crazy, maybe it's just me. Maybe i said it wrong but when i meant PS1 games show up as a black screen on a PS2 using RGB component.. i mean this cable...
Red, blue,green / white,red cable
This is a RGB component cable right?

technically that is component not rgb (even though though the cables are colour coded that way) . its component or y/pb/pr
anyways I use the junk multisystem component cable from gamestop with no issue playing psx games, not that that helps you any

I don't understand why this isn't in 'Game Rooms'...
Regarding the 'don't stand your 360 vertical'. Exactly how does this decrease airflow?! Standing vertical, air can flow all around the console freely. Since hot air is expelled out of the top, bottom and rear (or left side, right side, back side when stood vertical) of the console laying the console horizontal causes one of the largest surface areas to be restricted. Standing vertical means only one of the smallest surface areas is restricted...
I've always had my PS2 vertical and never needed a stand. It's never fallen over. In fact I stand my Slim vertical without a stand. That's never fallen over either...

I like my 360 like I like my women, horizontal xD. No, its just that I have no place for it vertically so it stays flat. I think its less the overheating issue and is more the drive loosening and scratching the discs.Niode wrote:I don't understand why this isn't in 'Game Rooms'...

My ps2 has been vertical for years, without a stand!! Well its placed so it can't fall down but I wish I had one of those stands. It reads disc much better that way.

I kept mine vertical when gta:sa first came out, and one day it scratched the disc all to hell. I dunno if I didn't put it in all the way or it came loose during play, but $50 later I turned my system back horizontal. Never had another problem.executioner wrote:My ps2 has been vertical for years, without a stand!! Well its placed so it can't fall down but I wish I had one of those stands.
