As cliched as DOOM was being pointed out, there's another set of them easily as overly obvious the original releases of Sim City and Civilization. They didn't need to say more, it says it all leaving still much to the imagination of what you wish to direct and design.

Two Crude Dudes (inexplicably called Crude Buster in Japan)

I wouldn't have posted Revenger's of Vengeance, because it's a great video game name. And as such fits this thread's original concept. I was only posting bad names though, because I find those more interesting. So here's a few more dumb names for otherwise fine games:

Pesterminator: The Western Exterminator (NES)
Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom (NES)
70's Robot Anime Geppy-X (PS1)
Eggs of Steel: Charlie's Eggcellent Adventure (PS1)
Awesome Possum Kicks Dr. Machino's Butt (Genesis)

And possibly the dumbest name ever for a game goes to:
Image

Son: "Mommy please buy me an Irritating Stick for Christmas."

Mother: "I think our son has been messing around in our bedroom drawers."
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Irritating stick is based on a carnival game where you have to navigate a metal stick through a tiny electrified metal maze. If you bump into a wall, you get electrocuted. I've never played the Playstation game, but it seems like it must miss the point if there is no danger involved.

There is a related arcade game I have played though called The Irritating Maze. It is a trackball game where you have to roll a fiddly ball through a maze. If you accidentally hit a wall, not only does the game hit you with an electric shock, but there is also an obnoxious loud noise that unexpectedly blasts out of the machine and a giant gust of stinky air that shoots in your face.

I'm a fan of the Japanese title of "The Rub Rabbits!" for Nintendo DS...

If we are throwing out terrible game titles too, I nominate S.C.A.T. (Special Cybernetic Attack Team). Great game. Crappy name. Pun intended.

Dungeon of the Endless. I think it's a great name :)
Almost all my life I was into playing computer games and from now on I am about to share my thoughts about games I play on my blog http://shygamergirl.com/!

So, the dungeon itself isn't endless, but belongs to something that is?
