Not sure if this is the right place to put this topic but I don't really see anywhere else it could go.
So I was browsing around on the gamestop app, and noticed that Digimon World was one of the higher priced games for PS1 they had available in stock. I was a little surprised to see this as I have a sealed copy in my collection I picked up at Goodwill for cheap. Then I checked ebay completed auctions and it will go for a decent bit of cash sometimes.
So my question is, does anyone have any info on this game? Was it a low print run, or are there a lot of people that really like Digimon and this was one of the best representations of the TV show(s)? I appreciate any info you guys can give me, as I was not aware this was a "higher" priced game.

Re: Digimon World
All the digimon games are collectible. Digimon fans like me dig 'em. Not that Digimon World for PS1 is a masterpiece or anything; it just is what it is. We digimon fans have been surprisingly loyal to a hit-or-miss franchise. Go figure.
Re: Digimon World
Interesting. I think that is my dilemma on selling the game. I wouldn't mind some money to put back in the game fund, but I didn't want to part with the game if it was some kind of masterpiece as I like to explore outside my "comfort" zone with different games. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Yeah those PS1 Digimon games are pricey these days.
As far as the original PlayStation Digimon games go, I've heard this one is supposed to be extremely great:
By "extremely great", I mean that people who enjoy Digimon games say it's a fantastic game. Non-Digimon fans mileage may vary.
I spent some time with Digimon World 4 on Xbox years ago. I was doing it local co-op. I thought it was OK, but the game got really grindy really fast. If I'd been a big Digimon fan though, I might have been more lenient about that.

Cool, good to know more on the subject. I think I am going to sell the sealed copy. My first thought is to just post it on here (at the B/S/T) and see what someone is willing to offer. I am not a miser so I am not expecting to set some world record for sale price, and if it is someone who is going to appreciate the game I would rather that than some reseller off eBay grab it from me and try and turn a profit. I figured someone on here is my best bet for anyone willing to enjoy it, as I am not really a member on any other websites. Thanks again for all the information.

Most sealed games from that era will go for a bit of cash these days no matter if they were good or not. Saw one, graded for >1000 euro. Not sure there are people willing to pay those prices for a sealed copy.

This is exactly correct. Digimon World 3 is the best Digimon game I have ever played. If you're not a digimon fan, it's a better-than-average jrpg.Exhuminator wrote:Yeah those PS1 Digimon games are pricey these days.

I don't put too much stock in "graded" video games.digimonfreak wrote:Most sealed games from that era will go for a bit of cash these days no matter if they were good or not. Saw one, graded for >1000 euro. Not sure there are people willing to pay those prices for a sealed copy.

Me neither, it artificially inflates the price based on the quality of the shrink wrap, but sometimes thats all you find looking for a sealed copy of a game.samsonlonghair wrote:This is exactly correct.
