- Shining Force (Genesis) - I have finished 5/30 battles as my game erased and I had to start over.
- Phantasy Star Online (Dreamcast) - I have beaten the game!
- Thousand Arms (Playstation 1) - I have beaten the game!
- Metal Saga (Playstation 2) - I am at about 66% of the way through the game. About to reach the 2/3 point.
- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - I have one more battle left and I will beat the game. Hopefully, I will do that tomorrow.
- Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic - I have about two chapters left, but I am about 90% of the way through the game.

Thousand Arms is off the list!

Still trucking through Mystic Quest.

Today I started up with the Golem's Cave, which was a pain in the ass as it was a maze where taking thr wrong turn sent you back to the start. On the plus side, I got the morning star, which means no more buying Mattocks to break down walls.

I then stormed Dark Lord's castle and defeated Dark Lord. But totally-unexpected-plottwist time, his 2nd in command ran off with the girl I'd LITERALLY just rescued. Again. How unexpected.

Anyway, my Chocobo was turned into an android chocobo who can run on water, and I saved a town full of frozen people. Next I need to go find Excalibur in order to save the day.

Haven't started Zelda yet (I've been sick), but I did score a copy of Contra on eBay -- with slipcover and manual, even -- for $34! I'm pretty excited about that, as my goal was to pay as far below $40 as possible. My Challenge list has been adjusted slightly to accommodate.

CORE:

1. Legend of Zelda (NES)
2. Tecmo Bowl (NES)
3. Metroid II: Return of Samus (GB)
4. Contra (NES)
5. Shenmue (DC)

BONUS:

6. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (GB)
7. Lemmings (GEN)
8. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (DOS)
9. Resident Evil: Code Veronica (DC)
10. Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar (AppII)

So excited.

Yeah, Final Fantasy Adventure was called Mystic Quest here, and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was called Mystic Quest Legend.

The only Square Enix games we got before Final Fantasy VII were the two I just mentioned, Rad Racer, Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore as far as I know. They clearly didn't think Europeans would be into their RPGs at all. No Final Fantasy, no Chrono Trigger, not even Super Mario RPG made it here.

It's a situation that took a while to reverse. We may have got all the Final Fantasy games aside from III on PS1, but we still didn't get Parasite Eve, Einhander, Final Fantasy Tactics, Brave Fencer Musashi, Threads of Fate, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears... - you get the idea!

Double posts are double the fun!

1. Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryuu To Hikari No Tsurugi (Famicom)
2. Super Aleste (SNES)
3. Final Fantasy III (SNES)
4. Mario Golf (N64)
5. Mystic Quest (Game Boy)
6. Shinobi (Master System)
7. Sega Rally Championship (Saturn)
8. Shenmue (Dreamcast)
9. Samurai Shodown (3DO)
10. Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger (3DO)

So, I finished up Mystic Quest earlier today. I'll write my thoughts up properly in the Games Beaten thread eventually, but advance spoilers - it's up there with the best on the system, and unlike most I actually much prefer it to it's sequel, Secret of Mana. And that's high praise, as I quite enjoyed Secret of Mana, and I think the Game Boy library is full of absolute gems.

I plan to start either Shenmue or Fire Emblem next. I had Fire Emblem next in mind for ages, but I dunno, I'm kinda feeling up for Shenmue right now.

Anyway, 3 out of 10 done by the end of May ain't bad, even if I still have the longer games on my list still to do. Hoping for 10 out of 10 this year, although beating Shinobi might be unlikely...

THANK YOU! Yes! I am not alone!

Also, you want to go for Shenmue. It's likely the best game on your list.
