Anyone know where I can find a definitive list of genesis games that support 6 button controller functionality? They have a pretty decent list at Moby Games but it isn't complete.

Possibly not definitive but this archived thread has more than what's listed on Moby Games.

Guess I have a screw loose, still very much adore the old Genesis SVP chipped Virtua Racing. When I got Genesis again late last year it was a game I made sure to pick up sooner than later.

Only just last weekend I actually added 1 game to my Genesis list and it was Sonic 3, but strangenova there though he's getting 2 titles I gave up and he can post about that if he wants when they arrive.

Yeah Castle of Illusion and Elemental Master are on the way. Really excited about both, Castle because I use to rent it back in the day and I've really been digging the Disney games for genesis and snes recently. Elemental Master I've never played, but I know it's made by techno soft and the thunder force games are awesome. Plus it's one of the more expensive genesis games I needed to get.

Tanooki also sent the box and manual to sonic 3, that's slowly becoming a focus in my genesis collecting. Upgrading my loose carts to CIB status.

I have a soft spot for it. A friend of mine owned it when I was a kid and would always lord it over me because it was a $70 game at the time. I asked for it as a birthday present and my parents got me Lotus 2 R.E.C.S. instead. I was disappointed but I ended up actually enjoying Lotus 2 for what it was.

Getting Virtua Racing on the Genesis for real was a priority for me when I started collecting just because it was a game that evaded me when I was young.

And I think it's decent. No it's not the best version available but it's fine.

Played through stages 3, 4, and 5 of Flashback last night. Then decided to play an exhibition match in NHL 96, it was a tie game. So after that I fired up Biohazard Battle and managed to get a stage farther than my last attempt. Also the farther I get into this game the more I enjoy it, at first I just thought it was kinda meh compared to lightening force, but now I'm really enjoying it for the things it does differently. It still reminds me of a more forgiving Darius Twin though.

I never had the Genesis up until the dying Majesco days and it was a favor to an aussie girl I was friends with. She wanted to save money getting stuff off ebay because someone was being a douchebag with shipping largely because they didn't police it in the 90s. I had the guy ship me a big box of Sega stuff with a Gen3 in it and a couple dozen games. She wanted a couple that were much the value of the lot, I got the system and all the other solid games and it was what got me started. I knew of Sega-Parts.com then which had new Genesis games for like $10-20/ea and really cheap shipping so I got one new there for $10 and fell in love with it laughing how people paid $100 for that in the day. I at one time could totally work it over, now I'm sure I'd get beat up by the timer. That's why I care for it, knew of it, liked it, finally got it, just had to get it back.

I know it's not as pretty, but you could do worse as I had the Saturn one and it was atrocious.

Kicked back and played some Columns recently. I was always a bigger fan of Tetris back in the day. I never really gave Columns enough time to appreciate it. It's simple, but it's hard. Columns speeds up fast - maybe too fast. Within a few minutes the jewels are falling so fast that the game becomes as much a test of reflex as a puzzle game. This forces the player to lean on intuition rather than logic as the game progresses.

Good game to loose yourself into.

The multiplayer mode were you and the other player share a board and take turns putting jewels in, competing for a high score, is actually really fun. You'll find yourself searching for the best move only to have your opponent take that spot from you.

I played it a lot as a kid and never realized the depth the game had.
