there are rumors that No Man's Sky has now been delayed. Normally delays don't bother me much, as I'd rather have a better game in the long run. But I feel like I was way more optimistic about this game when it was first announced. I don't know.

Tomorrow, May 27th, Dragon Quest will officially be thirty years old.

We can talk about it proper tomorrow. For now, just let that realization sink in.

FYI...for those of you with access to the App store, it appears that Square-Enix is celebrating with pretty steep discounts on Dragon Quest games. (IMO, however, they are still a bit too expensive.)

Speaking of game ages, I realized the other night that come 2022 I'll have some video games that are fifty years old.

If the new Blissbox kickstarter hits 75k, they are releasing the Interfacer early. It is a device for the Blissbox that allows you to use your old light guns on your modern tv. I have no idea how it works, ulao tried showing me technical writeups earlier and it was WAY over my head.

Wow, I'm currently playing through of Dragon Quest right now (SFC English translation ... along side King's Field ). I'm pretty much just doing the obligatory end game grind before facing off against the Dragonlord. Now I'm going to make a concerted effort to beat it tomorrow on the anniversary. Actually it probably won't take that much effort; lvl 25 should be sufficient to finally end the reign of the despicable Lord of Dragons.

I'm sure many of the games we play are displayed at incorrect ratios, resolutions or pixel sizes. Every console has its own standards and in the case of computers, they vary wildly.

Thankfully, I've only noticed with Monkey Island but apparently many arcade games were meant to have their overscan callibrated manually.
