Having a hard time thinking of a single game that has all of that. There surely has to be one.

Tekken has all of that except maybe aliens.

Aliens - Ogre is an alien, plus there's that one time where Paul beat up a UFO full of them. Tekken 5 and 6 have space colonies as stages so they still feature space
Lasers - Devil (Regular, Jin, and Kazuya flavors) and Angel both have these as attacks. Alisa's chainsaws are light sabers in South Korea because of censorship laws
Robots - The Jack series, Combot, and Alisa, plus a few cyborgs if that counts
Ninjas - Yoshimitsu (bonus points for also being a cyborg), Kunimitsu, and Raven
Blood - There's a reddish effect when you hit someone, but it never really looked like blood to me. Tekken Revolution has a vampire though, if that counts
T&A - Tekken is pretty light on sexualization compared to other fighting games, but there is still tits and ass to be had, and Heihachi's thong (shudder). Anna Williams had a shower scene in the anime.
Dinosaurs - Alex. Plus Kazuya rips one in half in the anime, which I guess counts as blood so there you go
Insert clever quote here.

Don't forget Gon from Tekken 3

Damn it. I can't believe I would forget about a two foot tall farting dinosaur unlocked by playing volleyball.

I'm fucking sick of these new 8/16-bit styled indie games, especially platformers. They're a-dime-a-dozen these days, and for me, they've lost all of their charm and allure.

I dunno..... there was a glut of licensed and "mascot" platformers back in the day and many of those sucked much harder. I'd take something like Momodora or They Bleed Pixels over Bubsy or Bugs Bunny or whatever.

I do wish there were more straight linear indie platformers and less emphasis on making "Metroidvania" games. That's a hard genre to nail down properly. Done wrong the game just feels artificially lengthened in the most annoying way possible.

Oh, I'm not saying that they're bad; most of the ones that I've played are really quite good. It just feels like modern shooters today or WWII shooters 15 years ago - overdone and stale no matter how well made they are.

Speaking of overdone, every other game does not need to be a "rogue-like."

I'm starting to think perma-death is popular among indie developers because it can let people make a game with very little content that still takes a long time to beat.

Don't get me wrong, I like the concept. FTL and Rogue Legacy are two of my favorite games of this decade. Used well perma-death can brilliantly take advantage of the "failure" state in video games in a way that adds to gameplay.

It's just starting to pop up in every genre as a buzzword gimmick much like "Metroidvania."

I think ZombiU did "perma-death" the best; your character is permanently dead and your supplies lost, but you can respawn as a different character and, if you find and kill your last character's zombie, get your equipment back. I've never played another game with a death mechanic quite like that, and it worked REALLY well in my opinion.

I cannot agree with this more. I roll my eyes when I see the term these days.

As for "Metroidvania", though, I love those. But there's no question that, if executed poorly, it just makes the game kinda boring. The last "linear" platformer that really struck me as amazing was Freedom Planet. Not bad for something that started as a Sonic fan game.
