It mostly says that we're retro as fuck. I approve.
I still like how some of my friends refer to FPS as "Shootie shoot games."

If we make a sub-forum for them, I demand we call it that.
Sorry guys, but it will be called the "Murder Simulators" subforum if ever we make it.

On the cell phone side check out Bad Land. Has shadow graphics of Limbo in the foreground and has a Flappy Bird mixed with Rayman Origins style of game play. Tap the screen to fly-float past the barriers, keep moving forward ahead of the screen scroll.

Two things I do for before playing an Android cell game
1. Turn Off Wi Fi and Data (cuts down on ads and data use)
2. Do not install the newer Google Play Games App (also reduces ads)

I have used a Samsung Impression (My Samsung Impression Thread) for many many years, buying extra batteries and backup Impressions on the cheap. Loved it for compactness, keyboard; a non smart phone and having Smart Phone features without all the hidden charges. The best is using TK File Explorer to backup all my games to the PC. Cell phones normally are upgraded every two years or so with a new contract, but any games purchased are locked to the older phone! :?

Finally moved up to Android a few months ago with a hand me down from my wife; a Samsung HTC One X. Not quite new, made in 2012. Discovering the HUGE Android App library with many freeware/adware. Many of the games tease of purchase of add on features and levels, but with the cell average two year run not worth buying games for it. Quite happy with this phone, see no need to upgrade at the next contract renewal.

Yes I even have Angry Birds which is addicting! Say why is Scorched Earth so revered by class gamers and not the birds? Both have similar game play of setting angle and volley load to destroy the target. No cross wind in Angry Birds, but the Space edition throws in multiple planet gravity.

A very good list, Pacman 256 a definite download!

I haaaaate not having a physical keyboard on my phone. I may look into getting one of those Impressions second hand, because your review totally sold me on it.

While reading my old Samsung Impression Thread, I remember the phone has a game called Sentry. A very good remake of a classic C64 game called Sentinel. That old phone has some great exclusive JAR/JAD games. Googled for an Android version and stumbled across the Abandonware PC versions both compatible on a modern PC with the right drivers!

I finished up the third path of the Japanese version of Eternal Darkness the other day--it happened to be significantly less than the NA version, a number of years ago--and noticed, while looking around for the Eternal Mode option, that I had unlocked a full English option. (There's no Japanese VO at all in the game, and all text is in Japanese, normally, but there's a separate option for English or Japanese subtitles in cutscenes.)

I'm not really sure whether I'm, overall, pleased or annoyed by this unlockable option. I'm also not sure which playthrough it was unlocked after, but if it was there after the first time I had cleared it, I might have actually wanted to change it to all English for the second and/or third time(s) through. It's a nice option to have, but why wasn't it just there from the beginning? Not that it matters much at this point, and usually bouncing between English and Japanese in a game doesn't detract from the experience at all for me. It just would have been nice to get the written parts of the story without it being filtered through the translation.

Tomorrow, May 27th, Dragon Quest will officially be thirty years old.

We can talk about it proper tomorrow. For now, just let that realization sink in.
