Yeah after the few that had bad-anime art syndrome, Ecclesia took it back. It's just easiest to say Ecclesia did everything right.

My favorite design and protagonist for the series!

Flipping off Dracula?

Sadly, Richter also fell victim to the feminized designs later on.

Eh, I always like the female characters best anyway.

You'd really like the Valis games on PC Engine CD/TG16 CD then, a lot more than the SNES port

RE: modern Castlevanias, I'll admit I stayed away from the more modern CVs because of exactly what Ack said. The artwork and character design reaaaaally didn't work for me. But with everyone in the Youtube comments yelling at me to play Aria of Sorrow, I guess I'll have to play that one.

Moonwalker is a deeply flawed game.

But I fucking love it.

Hey SNESdrunk, I have a suggestion for a video. Maybe do one one on homebrew?

N-Warp Daisakusen - http://www.romhacking.net/homebrew/15/

Classic Kong - http://www.romhacking.net/homebrew/62/

Super Road Blaster - http://www.romhacking.net/homebrew/66/

Skipp & Friends - http://www.romhacking.net/homebrew/72/

More: http://www.nesworld.com/snes-homebrew.php

Super Raod Blaster is a port of a Laser Disc FMV game. Yeah, that's right, on the SNES. It utilizes the MSU-1 enhancement chip created by byuu (MSU-1 games are only playable on the bsnes/higan emulator or an Sd2snes flash cart). The MSU-1 allows for FMV and CD quality audio, so it's pretty much what games would have been like if we got the Play Station CD add-on.

I forget if I've mentioned MSU-1 to you before, but you could do a video just on that alone. I'm really curious to hear what your opinion would be of it, I think it would be similar to mine.

I imagine this is what it would be like if Nintedo re-released LttP on CD:

There's a long list of games that are now hacked to use MSU-1: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=msu-1

Of course, it's up to the hacker to chose the right arrangements. Sometimes it doesn't always fit well. A lot of them are work-in-progress anyway.

Thanks for all the links Ziggy, thorough as always. I've played a lot of SNES ROM hacks but hardly any homebrews. Hot damn that first game supports 8 players?? That's insane. Also yeah, Super Road Blaster looks really interesting, amazing the SNES can handle that

I've messed with the MSU-1 stuff before, but I've found it really only works well with just a few games. Mostly because there really aren't that many complete SNES soundtracks that sound as good or better than the original music. I just can't get into the games that have rock or metal covers, it gets distracting.

Exactly my thoughts.

LttP is pretty interesting though. It has (mostly) orchestrated music, which was what the SNES sound chip was trying to emulate anyway. The the FMV intro is pretty neat. But yeah, some of them just don't fit well, or at all. I've seen one for DKC2 that was pretty good, but not complete.

Yeah! I'm not planning on getting a second multi tap any time soon (not that I'd have 7 other people to play with) but I definitely wanna check it out some time with as many people I can muster (5 max with my one multi tap). I tried it out by myself once, but apparently you can't play it without at least two players. I guess there's no computer AI to fight against.
