Wow, I was always under the impression that actually admitting to enjoying GWAR was something most folks just didn't do. Glad I'm not the only one.

I like Amon Amarth(besides the geekiness of the name), but I'm trying to say I really don't know why. I'm not the biggest fan of the vocals in death metal, but considering how much I enjoy the music, and since I find the lyrics pretty cool, I guess I got over it extremely quick. It grew on me pretty quick.

Seriously though, you guys should look up Gama Bomb.

Yeah, they really are. I still might go see him in Vegas next time me and my dad are out there if nothing else is playing. We always like to see a show when we go for a gambling trip.

Turisas - I heard they opened for DragonForce and stole the show, so I had to check them out.

That's because Dragonforce suck, or rather Herman Li cannot play live to save his life. Absolutely awful guitarist. Drags the rest of the band down immensely. Somebody should sack him, he's an inept hack who doesn't know his Am7 arpeggio from his power chord. Sloppy as fuck.


Amon Amarth are awesome. I saw them live before I knew who they were, I was sold instantly.

Pretty much every band was awesome at that festival. One of the best music festivals I've ever been to.

Barry Manilow, that's what my in-laws listen to in their car.

And I read somewhere that GWAR plays under the name RAWG when they do shows without their cool get-ups and their stage show.

Some death-metal vocals become a bit too repetitive. I once heard about a band who exploited that whole "death-metal' vocals and made it into something really ridiculous: they had a dog bark for vocals. Sad to say, it sounded just as good as any death metal vocalist a la Chris Barnes.

If you want some vocal changes in death-metal, try Akercocke, and Opeth. Some of the newer Opeth stuff is highly proggy and not really death-metal.

Also, the drummer from Evile is a bit of a cunt. He drinks in my local. Thinks he's "all that" just because he's in a shitty thrash metal band that got signed. He also dresses like an 80s Bay area reject.

Hmm...any idea on the rest of the band? I've never really cared for a band that wears their own shirts, but are they all bums or what?

And are there any other good metal bands coming out of the UK these days? I kinda like hearing about stuff before anybody else in the states, if you know what I mean.

I never got death metal bands,I can't understand the lyrics so what's the point? Does anyone on here watch Metalocalyspe? it's a great show
