Wow, it doesn't look very fun, but definitely looks like a technical marvel. Had no idea about this one.Ack wrote:You guys want to see something really cool?

That's a playthrough of the unreleased Game Boy Color version of Resident Evil. It's basically a direct port of the first game and was nearly finished when Capcom decided to not pursue it. The ROM ended up dumped, so you can find it floating around the web. I believe there are two versions at differing levels of completion, so if you track it down, be aware.
Oh, the Jill Sandwich line was cut, unfortunately.

Well my point was yes Piko (Eli) talked to him and that was the figure that was desired. If that money could be attained/spent it would be a done deal. He doesn't have that floating to buy the game and let it go but still would like to publish it. So my point was if someone did something like demiforce did in the 00s to get Earthbound NES picked up through a community effort, someone like Piko for a cut could make it a physical reality and distribute it. I know demiforce only did the first part, then the 'repro' pirates made their own carts, so it's like that added step much like those Nolan's do with prototypes they pick up, they get Uncle Tusk, NES City or whoever to do the physical end/distribution and sales of such things.

Don't we have Kickstarter for this sort of thing?
$50,000 might still be a little steep, but it may be in the realm of possibility. There are a lot of Game Boy Color fans out there (judging from the Pokemon phenom).
I'd pledge to buy a physical copy of Infinity.

So I've got a couple that I keep running into from old mags:
Legend of the Blademasters (Dreamcast)
Saw a video of it and it seemed a little bland, but ARPG's always peak my interest. To be fair, the video looks very pre-beta.
Dead Phoenix (Gamecube)
Panzer Dragoon-esque; looked pretty wicked.

Hey, I think I remember reading about Dead Phoenix in the early 2000's! Wasn't there a Nintendo Power article about it or something? The video looks fascinating...nightrnr wrote: Dead Phoenix (Gamecube)

Yup it was, yet another of the falsely promised Capcom 5 that ultimately ended up with Capcom backstabbing Nintendo by announcing the definitive version of RE4 for PS2 like 2 weeks before the GC game arrived in stores with some added stuff included using Ada Wong. It went down right over the cliff with other promising looking stuff which was just disgusting and sad. Looking back though Capcom more or less has horribly waffled out garbage almost entirely since.

At least Nintendo ended up getting the real definitive version - the Wii port had the PS2 port's unique features without its ugly, muddled graphics. Everyone seems to forget that the Gamecube's graphics and hardware could out perform the PS2 any day of the week.Tanooki wrote:Yup it was, yet another of the falsely promised Capcom 5 that ultimately ended up with Capcom backstabbing Nintendo by announcing the definitive version of RE4 for PS2 like 2 weeks before the GC game arrived in stores with some added stuff included using Ada Wong. No doubt and no argument there. The argument was the sabotage Capcom completely intended with that corporate back stab to keep the Sony fanboys from whining about having to buy a gamecube to play the title. They should have been barred from even mentioning it for a time after the GC game was out, but instead they just twisted the knife and while it still sold to Nintendo strong owners, quite a few others waited it out. I rarely had bought a capcom game after that point as I lost respect for them, and even then big sales but usually used so they didn't get crap.
