apparently RE7 is going to be revealed at E3. When is E3???

PC Gamer's (brief) article has this really exciting bit of news:
"Yes, it's in development," he said in a tweet spotted by Videogamer. "The entire game will go back to the series' horror roots and (essentially) be a clean slate."

He adds: "The team hired Jordan Amaro, a designer who previously worked on Metal Gear Solid V and P. T. at Kojima Productions."
EDIT: E3 is June 12-16. So in a month we should know what's going on with RE7. That's awesome.

This little bit has got me most excited. Although I still need to play all the 360/PS3 RE games.

It has me RIDICULOUSLY excited. I love Resident Evil. I even enjoyed 6. The only games I've really not liked at all were 5 and the two Outbreak games.

What was wrong with 5?

I liked 5 and have gone through it multiple times. I don't see any problems with it. It's just 4 with coop

RE5 is a great action-adventure game. It's not a great survival horror game though.

Also never forget:

If you were in a specialized unit that's sole purpose was to eliminate and destroy flesh/human eating zombies and mutants, wouldn't you bulk and roid up as much as possible too?

Pretty decent argument I saw recently regarding Buff Chris.

I think a year ago Capcom were talking about Last of Us maybe being an influence for the series future, could also be a good thing. I'm optimistic about RE7. Since we're all at it, for me Revelations is the only one I really disliked.

My biggest issue with the games though, is Capcom needs to stop dicking around and finally give us the ultimate character team combos (since the buddy system is apparently permanent in this franchise).

Chris/Jill/Claire
Leon/Ada

And well, I think that's all we need. The new characters always suck, no more please!

I'd be down with a reboot/reimagining for 7. The series doesn't make that much sense anymore.

Get it back in a mansion, new layout, puzzles and situations. New control scheme that isn't as action based as the last 3 main games but not the tank controls of the first 3.

I'd be down with anything as long as it involves actual zombies. Not this parasite crap. Gimme some zambos.
