DocHauser - 308,500 - Stage 4 - Shmupmame 4.2

Sweet, sweet checkpoint milking. I should probably go back to practising Stage 6 now...

Whatever stage has the boss with the rocks surrounding it.

That would be Stage 5.

R-TYPE scores will be updated later today.

Sengoku Blade is on for May! Thanks to ChrisHaHa2049 for bringing me this late pick.

Tengai is the ROM name for it is the international release.

It is also the name used for the mobile versions, which are available for free in the Apple and Google appstores, but they require IAPs for additional characters and stages (or at least the in-game currency which I imagine would involve a purchase)

*INFORMATION*
MAME romset: tengai.zip
Description: Tengai (World)

Please use default settings. (Normal difficulty, extend 600K only)

You may also use the hidden character Ayin. At character select, go to "?" and move Up(X3), Down(X3), Up(X7).

Other formats accepted: Saturn, PS2, mobile versions.

Autofire: None present but for a game such as this if you can find a method somehow, go for it.

Format: Name - Score - Stage - Character - Port

PROTIP: Grab the spinning coins when they are 100% 'round' (fully facing the screen) for 2000 points.

My decency at horizontal shmups continue. This one is not too bad! Stages are very short.

ExedExes - 401,400 - 1-4 - Miko

Hm.
Well this game is certainly not as punishing as Psikyo's others tend to be. The bosses are almost pushovers and clearing the 1st loop is comparatively easy. Almost there...

ChrisH2049 - 857,600 - 1-7 - Junis - MAME

Btw, there are some extra coins hidden in the background of some stages that you make appear by 'running' on the ground/floor over where they're hidden. Example: The Forest stage- very early in, there's 1 coin at the base of the last tree in the background (when the ninja enemies first start to appear). Then there's another when the big flying pagoda enemy appears (look for the house in the background). And a 3rd after defeating the mid boss, when the scrolling stops briefly, the tree at the far right. Also the Temple stage- about half way through, there's a group of 3 coins at the base of the 2nd column (shortly after when the 3 pothead things & small pagoda appear). I think that's all for the 4 random stages. There are more in stages 5,6, and 7 though...

Once again, the hidden character has been the best for me (much like Strikers 1945 III). I like this game, very cool Japanese style and being a horizontal it's been a LOT easier for me.
