Wow, how has this thread slipped for two weeks?

Anyway, I've got an unpopular opinion: Revenge of Shinobi... kinda sucks.

I think Everblue is a good game and was totally underrated by the critics of its day.

I suspect I'd need to put in the time to get really good at it to actually enjoy it. I might do that one day. Then it'll be like some of the other really tough games I've taken the time to beat.

I did that once. It still sucks. (Ninjas are supposed to be fast...)

I actually haven't beaten it. It just gets a bit too hard near the end. I do enjoy all the special moves, though. I've love to see that style of platformer revisited with a little modern sensibility thrown into the mix.

I mean, not really? They're assassins, so if anything I imagine they're actually supposed to be patient and sneaky.

I spent the time to learn RoS and I grew to love it. To each their own I guess.

Whilst we're spouting unpopular opinions though, here's one though.

I've been trying to like it for 20 years, but Street Fighter sucks. It's not just that I suck at it (although I really, really do) it's just that I find it tedious to play, whether I'm winning by a mile, losing by a landslide or having a close fought encounter. Even against friends (which I normally win, because they suck even more than I do) it just feels unexciting.

I'm not much of a 2D fighter fan anyway, but of all the (supposedly good) 2D Fighters I have played, Street Fighter is the only one I just couldn't understand how people enjoy.

It's better than Pit Fighter I guess.

Wow...what don't you see in it? Street Fighter 2 is one of the first games I ever played so I'm very partial to it, but more than that everytime I have company they want to play some matches as well. Street Fighter 4 is also one of my most heavily played 360 games.

The balance and the motions are so good that they've been mimicked in so many other games, from other fighters to beat em ups and even platformers.

Yeah pretty much most of those 2D 1on1 games ape the general style and flow of the SF franchise and SF2 in particular as it's the core basis of it all. I could get hating on SF4 if you weren't already some pretty good pro level player since it's sadistically unbalanced and cheap if you play the AI but works well with other people. But to not like it in general I'd wonder what does work? Button mashing hell in 2D like MK/KI or the 3D stuff that's about the same? Or perhaps DOS which isn't that way but just a very pretty and boob covered rock paper scissors combat title.

Now if you meant just Street Fighter (as in #1) that game has problems, severe crappy problems with the control and pulling off moves.
