Ha, I was just talking to Fastbilly about that. I've been a fan of King of Dragons for years, and he's a fan of Knights of the Round. I've wanted to play both back to back to compare the two for a long time.

Lets do it. I am always down for playing a fantasy beatemup. I still need to beat Arcade Golden Axe II.

Have you beaten Magic Sword yet? I can't remember.

Moving on....

They came out around the same time in the arcade both running on CPS-1 hardware, and also were ported to the SNES around the same time, and even the May '94 issue of Nintendo Power has both games covered in the same issue.

I'd *LOVE* to know if the Capcom staff responsible for them did BOTH. From my experience, it was easier to find KOD to rent because it was in more stores, and only Blockbuster had KOTR.

Additional note, both games are going for $70-$100 loose right now per VGPC. They're twins!

Surprisingly, no, they actually have a completely different set of staff according to Moby Games. However, several guys from both groups had previously worked together on Street Fighter II, and several did end up working together again on Street Fighter Alpha 3, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

Funny you mention Zelda a snes-esque RPG, I'm actually playing Link to the Past right now.

What would you classify it as? A Dungeon Puzzle game?

I' thinking about Lufia i've never played it so it'd be a blind run.

I always play those two back-to-back. Just like Capcom's D&D beat 'em ups.

Back to King Arthur & the Knights of Justice, the worst thing about it for me is that it's based on some crappy old cartoon show that no one watched and features the same ugly dated 1990s Western artwork. Ugh.

Oh and the characters are teenage football players who are "transported to a fantasy world." Good lord how I hate that trope.

The game is also mildly shitty.

Shigeru Miyamoto says it's an RPG. The internet says he's wrong and it's an action-adventure. I think it's possible both parties are correct, and Zelda is a hybrid of both genres.

You will not denigrate the name of Arthur King and the New York Knights!

Maybe it was a translation error?
