I played the hell out of BF2142 back in the day with a few buddies. We ran under the clan tag [OP4]. Each of us had a designated role, with certain members also training up as squad leaders or being experienced Commanders. I ran as Support and carried my base machine gun(for suppressing fire) along with ammo boxes (resupply squadmates) and a sentry turret (to help reinforce our position if we were holding point). Other guys included two assaults specced out as medics, a sniper with mines, another support built for ammo resupplies, and a pilum-wielding engineer who could pop an enemy tank's weakpoint from the other side of the map because he was a God damn artiste. We also often played in the same room together or used a teamspeak server to keep in contact.

I remember some awesome times, like once when we had to hold the final point in an uphill map ending in a tower. It's a 64-man server(so 32 people on each side), our team has been wiped except for the 6 of us currently on and in the squad, and we've got a minute to go to the respawn of our team when suddenly the entire enemy team shows up on our doorstep. We let them have hell. The medics are popping guys in the head and breaking off to heal, supports are just mowing guys down with reams of machine gun fire and breaking off one at a time to resupply everyone, our engineer is dropping mechs and tanks while screaming for ammo, EMP and frag grenades are raining down from our position on top of this mass of dudes. Our team sniper is popping anybody that tries to take a bead on our guys and then switches over to com to drop an artillery strike right outside our position. End result: we held, their force broke, our team respawned, and we rushed down the hill and through the streets shooting the panicking fuckers in their backs. We win the map. Good fucking times.

I was also pretty good with a knife.

When I played TF2 regularly, I was kicked out of servers for "aimbotting" every other week so yeah, I can see that happening

They need to do an HD remake of 2142. I never got to play it when it was first released and frequently played online, and I'd love to be able to play it and fully enjoy it.

I used to run with a clan under the tag KoF actually spent most of my middle school through high school days with them before getting fed up with their clan management my first year of college. Mainly played Halo, but they had BF2, BF2142, BC2 and maybe BF3 servers going so I played a fair amount of Battlefield as well.

I remember KoF back in Halo PC and BF2. I also remember they didnt like loan wolfs in BF2. But I was a threat to myself and my team as much as the enemy with my C4 based jeeps.

I thought the trailer looked awesome, but I'm not too sure how fun the multiplayer is gonna be. In concept it's cool, in practice... well, we'll see. I'll have to try the beta before committing to it.
