So what have you guys been watching lately?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Oh gosh... laugh tracks on any show newer than Gilligan's Island make me cringe.

One of the many reasons I think Big Bang Theory sucks.

Yep. Big Bang Theory was never good.

I just finished Shōgun. It was awesome, recommended to all fans of feudal Japan.

I'm currently watching Vividred Operation.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

I can't stand that terrible condescending show.

Dude no lie I watched the first episode on netflix just last night. I saw it on TV a few times way back but never got going on it. But lately I've been digging up all the 90's sci-fi shows. This one is better than the last one I tried, Sliders.

Sliders was hit or miss. Every now and again they had an episode with a legitimately interesting premise - like the world where women rule over men, or the world where communism overthrew capitalism. Then there were episodes wherein the sliders run away from CG dinosaurs, big snakes, or electric tornadoes.

Farscape, on the other hand, is consistently good. The Henson puppetry has aged so much better than the special effects of other contemporary shows that relied too heavily on computer graphics.

Has anyone else watched The Returned (the French original, not the American remake)? It is streaming on Netflix, and it is legitimately amazing. My wife and I finished the second (and final) season recently, and it has probably the most satisfying ending of any series in its genre. Since the first season followed the Twin Peaks "just keep stacking mysteries on top of each other!" formula, I was impressed that the writers were able to wrap up the show so well.

I highly, highly recommend it to anyone with Netflix (especially Noise), and I would be interested in discussing it with anyone who has seen it.

just finished ep1 of Jessica Jones. Not what I expected. Much darker. I like it.

Help me out w/ the timeline a bit. This would be post-Civil War, yeah? Or at least the events leading up to it?

I think post Winter Soldier (or just Avengers). Civil War only just came out, so little would be after that. It's 99% irrelevant anyway.

Yeah DD and JJ occur at some time after the first avengers movies they don't really reference anything aside from the Invasion of New York as far as I remember. In relation to each other JJ happens after DD season 1 but before season 2.

Buckle up; you're in for a wild ride. I watched the first six episodes on the plane from Seattle to Chicago for Thanksgiving, the next five on the flight from Chicago to Vegas (my dad and I did Vegas after Thanksgiving), and the final two in my hotel room that right. I'm not sure I could have handled it if the show had been a normal TV show with week long breaks.
