Ted Cruz was a legitimately terrifying candidate to me, and (believe it or not) I actually prefer Donald Trump. (I disagree with Cruz on everything. I disagree with Trump on almost everything.) I will, of course, be voting for HRC in the general election, but I am so, so glad that Cruz will not be her opponent.

Because Ted Cruz actually had a chance in the general election?

Trump did a good job drumming up the base during the primaries. I honestly never expected him to fare as well as he did, but he's not going to fare so well in the general election. He's a political novice facing off against the savviest woman in American politics. Hillary knows the political machine inside and out. Plus she's one of the best fundraisers around. She's barely even tapped into her fundraising war chest for the primaries. Trump hasn't even begun raising election funds. He funded his primary bid on a loan from one of his own companies.

Long story shory: I don't exactly like Hillary, but I respect her political savvy. I wouldn't want to be her political enemy.

I'm picturing Jon Stewart shaking his fist and going "Noooooo!" because this is the greatest election cycle for the Daily Show and he is going to miss it.

Kasich has been a joke for months, surprised he did last the longest. No one likes him other than his state and that wasn't even a slam dunk either. Cruz wasn't great but I don't get the Lucifer level hatred on that guy though his religious undertones were getting annoying. At least he didn't spout of retarded junk that he'd never be able to legally get away with like Trump loves to do just to stir up votes from people who just don't get it. I know he didn't have a good chance as the party K street trolls hated him because he wouldn't do what they want ever, basically giving them the bird but sadly that was the only chance left of ruining Trump. Now it's basically in the bag for big mouth unless the party (which since it is entirely devoid of values or balls anymore) tries to run someone else up against the guy it's a foregone conclusion we'll be going from first black president to first female as back to back.

 I've reached my limit with a kid. He was suspended for a week for cussing me out and refuse to go to ISS when I sent him for disrupting my class. The day he got off of his suspension, he was doing the same shit - cussing up a storm and being disrespectful to me and his classmates and refusing to leave when I sent him out - so I wrote him up again (that was a week and a half ago), and near as I can tell, the assistant principal in charge of the freshmen hasn't even looked at that referral because he's still be coming to class every day, and I haven't been told a thing. I finally had it today and sent her an e-mail basically saying "Can you please do something about him? I wrote him up over a week ago, and I'm past my limit with his perpetual defiance, disrespect to me and his classmates, and his refusal to work" (he has a 17 in the class and 13 absences when you're only allowed 8).

I doubt anything will come of it - nothing ever does - but I'm just fucking done. I can't teach anyone when I have one kid acting a fool and disrupting the whole class, and I can't keep order in my class when the kids know that the referrals all get ignored, thereby complete undermining our authority. With a few kids, I can call parents to get some support, but with most of the kids, their parents either don't care, don't have a working number on file with the school, or don't speak English (which I don't begrudge them - it's none of my business what language they speak - but the language barrier does prevent communication).

You know REALLY REALLY REALLY ticked me off today? I went to get myself a coffee, and when I came out, I saw this lady inside of the car with the window ever so slightly cracked, smoking a cigarette. In the back seat was her young daughter--I'd say around 3-years-old or so. The entire car was filled with smoke. As I walked to my car, which was parked right next to her, they came out, and the little girl had a McDonald's bag and a coke in her hands. I wanted to go up and smack that lady across the face. . .

 Back on Tuesday night, my uncle (well, he's actually my great-uncle) had an asthma attack when trying to go up the stairs and his inhaler wasn't working for him. So after calling an ambulance, he ended up going to the hospital in Nags Head, only to be transferred to the hospital in Chesapeake, VA.

I've been looking after my 90-year-old, bedridden great-grandmother (my mom comes by around 8:30 in the morning and stays for a while, and also shows back up after work, which is around 9:30-10pm; and her nurses show up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), which entails fixing her meals (she really likes fried squash, if anyone wants the recipe), closing or opening windows depending or whether she's feeling too cold or too warm, staying with her at night when she can't get to sleep and constantly explaining things to her that she should be aware of (like how this is her house and she's been living here for 20 years, and so on; also last night I stayed by her side while she was trying to go to sleep, but she just kept worrying about my great-uncle and wondering where she is and she didn't fall asleep until around midnight, almost an hour after I went to sit out with her).

My great-uncle should be back on Saturday.

Also, kind of a weird follow-up to my last post (BTW, my great-uncle's doing much much better than he was Tuesday night), but:

:? Many former Power Rangers alumni has changed their various social media profile pictures to the above image. No one knows what it is, what it means, and none of the individuals involved have said anything on the subject, aside from it not being associated with a forthcoming convention or next year's Power Rangers reboot.
