Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I haven't played it, but its on my list in the nearish future.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I own it but also have not played it. I saw Dishonored as a successor to the Thief line of things. As for BioShock, I don't know if I would say it improved on the gunplay of System Shock 2. I'm pretty much doing the same thing in both, using the wrench as much as I can. In fact, I think I liked SS2's gunplay better.

In Bioshock you get to fire a gun more than five times.

Yeah, but the real question is whether I want to in Bioshock.MrPopo wrote:In Bioshock you get to fire a gun more than five times.

Jeeze, it's not that bad. lol
Once the weapons are upgraded they're completely viable late game.

So I'm finally curious about Call of Duty again, though I'm disappointed to hear the MW1 remaster is only packed in with the special editions of Infinite Warfare apparently ($79.99 and up). I wonder if it will be sold separately eventually though.
I enjoyed the Black Ops 3 beta and I've been wanting that casual online FPS to play again. I haven't really been into one since CoD4, MW2, and the Bad Company games.
How do the newest ones stack up? And how are the campaigns?
Advanced Warefare
Ghosts
Black Ops 3
Maybe I'll stay a year behind on the series and that way get the older ones cheaper.
Infinite Warfare just makes me laugh because we all knew it was coming someday, Call of Duty finally going to space. But maybe it'll be fun. I'm finally willing to check some of them out again. They never made me rage, unlike Halo haha. I could never play Halo by myself, it always pissed me off.

I'm not the best judge as I have only played COD 1 and then... Advanced Warfare haha. But I enjoyed the latter immensely. And I'm actually pretty interested in Ghosts.

I played a bit more. I'm just not a big fan of how the guns seem to operate. The pistol seems ok, though it's a little inaccurate even at relatively close range. The Thompson is good for short bursts of about two to three rounds before it all goes to hell, and the shotgun's limited round capacity severely hinders it, which is a shame because electro rounds are fun against Big Daddys. I haven't formed an opinion of the grenade launcher yet other than its base rounds don't seem to do much damage to the big guys. As of now, I'm finding plasmids and the wrench to be the better choice. We'll see how I feel after I put a few more hours into it.Xeogred wrote:Jeeze, it's not that bad. lol

I don't recall liking the gunplay in Bioshock either. At the time I think I just assumed my PC didn't run it quite well enough, but it's probably just subpar. I didn't get the feeling it was deliberately like that though, like SS2 or Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Might actually be nicer to have a VATS like system in it.
Dishonored is excellent though. As mentioned, it's definitely a standout for this style of game where the actual combat and such is good in its own right. Not that the story/atmosphere aren't well done too.
Main downfall, I think, is how black and white it gets for endings. Hopefully the sequel has more middle ground to it.

Keeping on with Bioshock. I'm now at the start of Hephaestus, having just finished Fort Frolic. The plasmids I'm using make me the Predator, and cloaking has been absurdly useful. I continue to favor the wrench unless I am fighting Big Daddys, and against them I tend to favor weapons that decrease their mobility: electric shock rounds, liquid nitrogen from the sprayer, etc. I also use the grenade launcher pretty heavily against them because it can take off chunks of their health.
For the Little Sisters, I've been rescuing them instead of killing them off. I don't know if this has any late game benefit, but since I keep getting presents, it works for me. I almost managed to get the 4th girl(a glitch) in Neptune's Landing but unfortunately got whacked by the Rosie there just before getting off the finishing blow. Oh, and that dude in Fort Frolic? I let him live. I admit I killed him once just to see what was in his treasure box and then reloaded because I felt it wasn't worth it at the time. I have a nasty habit of setting folks alight with the fire plasmid and then going stealth and letting them burn. It's only failed once because a splicer stepped too close and burned me. I've lost stealth more times from being slapped out of the way by a Big Daddy than anything else.
