Dunno. I tend to prefer a controller for third person games, even on PC. I played Rise of the Tomb Raider on XBox One though.

I think it just depends on the game for me. But for the most part, any 3D game seems to be a keyboard and mouse preference lately. Don't know.


Unrelated: I just realized that the Overwatch beta starts TODAY for those that pre-ordered. So damn. Now I've got two new games vying for my attention... three if you can't Banner Saga 2. Damn.

He's lost!

I hate 3rd person on mouse/keyboard. Seriously feels completely funked up, like I'm battling to control the character like a string puppet from way behind in the distance.

Early third person games were kinda bad about how they handled mouse integration, but modern stuff I feel does it well. But I'm also the type who has no problem with tank controls, so I might just be weird.

It does depend a lot on what it was designed around too. Like, for that game, I would be using an Xbox controller either way. Same with other action-oriented things like the Lords of Shadow games. RPGs/MMOs though, I've stuck with keyboard and mouse (or keyboard only for FFXI).

Just as I hoped and feared, Overwatch is a lot of fun.
