When you're tired at night, just grabbing a handheld and turning it on is faster to sink into, I agree. I too find handheld gaming to be more intimate than console gaming, which is why I favor RPGs on handhelds so much. I absolutely love the idea of holding an entire fantasy world in the palms of my hands.keresmatic wrote:I selected on couch at home. It's more intimate too.
Where do you usually play your handhelds?

Ha. Let me clarify then.
I absolutely love the idea of holding an entire fantasy world in the palms of my hands in which I am an active participant.

Yeah, agreed. Also, from a collector's standpoint, I just like cartridges more than discs, and only handhelds continue to come on cartridge. I have some Wii U games physically that I'm keeping, but for PS4 games, I basically trade them in once I'm done. Something about discs leaves me cold. I'm actually thinking about selling my PS3, Will, and Gamecube games for that reason.Exhuminator wrote:When you're tired at night, just grabbing a handheld and turning it on is faster to sink into, I agree. But darn tootin' I will keep my physical GBA, DS, 3DS, and Vita games.
Re: Where do you usually play your handhelds?
I'm not entirely sure where I play mine the most. I'm not a big handheld gamer. I voted for In my bed at home, but generally, I play my handhelds in all of these places fairly equally, I think:
- In my bed at home
- On the couch at home
- On the toilet
- When I'm stuck at the in-laws
- On vacation

I spend about 100 hours per year on airplanes so that's where I get all my handheld mileage. 3DS got smooshed and it's gonna cost 100 bucks to fix.
I'm almost at the end of Bravely Default, too. My Vita will do for now.

I'm the other vote for playing handhelds while traveling for work. Plane, train, or hotel is fine by me. This is the only time I can play my portables.
Played Theatrhythm while flying to NYC yesterday. Today I've got xenoblade qued up.

If you don't mind 2D, get a 2DS for traveling. The thing is built like a brick compared to a 3DS.hashiriya1 wrote:3DS got smooshed and it's gonna cost 100 bucks to fix.
